    When I first started Pilates I was “broken”. I had bursitis in my shoulder, I had Lumbar issues, my Hamstrings and Calves were always tight. I was often getting cramps…I was 58 years old and was not in a good way…however I started going to Pilates at Active Core…slowly and surely under the careful eye of Jess…I started to get better. My shoulder and lumbar issues improved, and I am delighted to say…..I am back, better than ever! I have just turned 60. I have not run for 19 years. In May this year I decided to start running again. After my first run I thought I was going to hurt the next day….oh no…how wrong I was. I felt sooooo good. I am now running regularly 10 kms and still feel great. I put this all down to Pilates. I have now been going to Active Core for more than 2.5 years. Doing a mixture of Mat and Reformer classes. Apart from loving the classes, I feel so strong, flexible and in the best shape for running ( and life) than I have been for a very long time So if you want to get back to any sport or activity..I do recommend Pilates. Also it helps that Jess, the owner/ instructor is excellent. Even though there are a few others in the class, she personalises the sessions to suit our individual needs. I highly recommend Active Core for Pilates to help assist with all aspects of your life. By making the effort to join a Pilates class (and there are plenty of options to choose from), you will not be disappointed. Go for it!

    Have been taking reformer pilate classes with Jess now for a few months. It's such a great atmosphere and the way she teaches is excellent, always checking to make sure you're doing it right and not aggravating any past injuries. Highly recommend! :)

    Jess is a brilliant teacher, really patient and supportive. For any tough guys out there with bad backs I thoroughly recommend the men’s only mat class. My lower back problems have much improved since joining Active Core.
