Loved the shop and if I lived in the Bay I would take up art classes. I live in Gisborne though. Bought an artists easel, got great advice and lady even delivered to my car. 5 star.

I am often in the store as my daughter works there. The place is full of all kinds of interesting books and art supplies. I know nothing about art but recognize quality when I see it and Humanity Books is full of it. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. If you are looking for art supplies and related books, this is the place to go.

Small shop but not only friendly, knowledgeable, and that's worth a lot. Also patient. I went in for some sepia ink and became absorbed by the Fine Art calendars. Took long time to choose as I wanted them all! Spent a fortune, always popular, but she'd waited patiently without hassling me at all , so I felt really guilty when I realized the shop should ha e closed 29minutes before I was finished. Big Ups to HumanityBooks. Also, for a small shop, the range of high quality , artist quality, products was impressive. And it felt like one of those little book shops that you know has been there for generations, but had it been there for generations yesterday? I might have to go back and check. I fear there may be no safe exposure time to this venue!
