Tasty wines, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Only cristitism is that the picnic food is like an overpriced supermarket, you have to buy full chunks of cheese and jars of chutney etc instead of ordering from a menu. So bit annoying if there is only two of you. Might as well bring your own picky bits.
We had an amazing wine tasting and picnic here. We loved the Archers Chardonnay and Askerne Hawkes Bay Reserve Merlot Cabinet Malbec. Both superb. Lovely friendly staff.
Pretty spot with plenty of outside seating. And you build your own charcuterie board! Great for a relaxing afternoon
Visited 2dec 24 Friendly peeps. Casual spot. Loved the fact they had small nibbles on the ready for the wine tasting. Open airy space very nice indeed.
I had a fantastic time at Askerne, we went for a wine tasting and were walked through a great range of wines all of which were individual and delicious. The staff were great. Highly recommend and would definitely go again.
Loved our pop in visit to taste some wines. The staff were lovely. The wines were superb. We didn't try it, but the "make your own picnic basket" definitely looks worth a try.
What a great place for wine and food. This place has such a wide great selection of wines. They have so much choice of food to put together a platter. Now they have renovated they have shelter from the whether too.
So friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent wines. Part of okay2stay. You can purchase snacks to go with your wine. Beautiful rose, white and red. Lovely location.
What a beautiful winery. We literally had the whole place to ourselves when we came on a weekday but even if there were other people around it would've also been enjoyable. It's spaced out well so there's plenty of space and you can also bring a picnic blanket to sit on the ground with some shade provided by the trees. It's a lovely set up, so you grab a basket and you pick what you want to have. They have a wide range of chutneys, spreads, olives and crackers. They also have fridges which has pates, cold meats, different variety of cheeses and hummus. Then there's another fridge of wine, beer and cider and non alcoholic drinks. Very good value for money, I would say it is even cheaper than getting a cheese board on some of the vineyards I've visited. Overall its a fun way to build your own cheeseboard, choosing what you want to eat. We spent almost 3 hours there. A place we would return to again when we come back in Napier. Staff are also friendly and accommodating :).
