Gun emplacements on top of him is a nice spot and view. Apart from all the tagging and they have welded the doors closed.
Lovely sandy beach with views of a rugged coastline. Be aware that there are no public facilities.

Beautiful stretch of white sand and dunes, dog friendly (though keep an eye out for occasional wildlife such as seals). Multiple access points, though probably not suitable for wheelchairs unless able to drive onto beach first (which isn't always an option depending on tide). Can have strong currents but good surfing options

Really nice beach. Please always keep dogs on leash at whole beach and no dogs at northern end. Vulnerable penguins live here.
Beautiful soft sand beach a hidden gem. Take your own supplies as there are no stores nearby.
A nice beach tucked away in the corner of Dunedin. Beach access is by foot or by 4WD. The car park is very close to the beach itself. Good place to take the children or dogs in a sunny day. There is a sign saying swimming isn't recommended. I'm not sure why this is but I'm guessing it's possibly because there are no lifeguards at this beach.
