Davies Heat and Cool has supplied and installed two heat pumps for me this year. They were also happy to relocate and reinstall a used heatpump after a renovation. They were great to deal with - starting with a fast quote with a recommended unit size and unit position recommendation for healthy homes requirements. They booked it in and completed the job quickly on time with a minimum of three guys on site. They then sent the invoice that night. Their quote was pretty reasonable, in the current environment but their service definitely made them worthy of a good recommendation to other landlords. Bought two heat pumps from Davies heat and cool earlier this year, and started using them this winter. One of the heat pumps makes strange noises when running, not very loud but quite obvious when the wind level is low. Then I rang up for a service. A lady answered the phone, wrote down my contact information, and told me someone would contact me in one or two days. After 3 business days, no one contacted me. Then I called again. The same lady picked up the phone, no explanation, no sorry, just confirmed my contact info and told me again someone would call me. After another 4 business days, still no callback. I was quite annoyed and wondering what happened but I finally realised that this is actually the way they’re running business. When I purchased the heat pumps, the service was very good. The onsite estimation was quick, and the installation of the first heat pump was quick. The second one needed to wait 6 weeks but they let me know in advance when I accepted the quotation. But this time, none of this happened. If they’re busy, they can simply call me back to arrange a time. I think this is because the maintenance service does not make money especially when the product is under warranty. They just ignore your service request like nothing happened. So I ended up with a defected heat pump and have no way to get it repaired. Follow up: posted the review during the weekend, got the phone call on Monday morning, apologized and explained, and made an appointment on Tuesday. The technician came on Tuesday, inspected the machine and fixed the problem, the work is professionally done. Change the rating from 1 start to 3.
This is the second time we have used Davies Heat & Cool. They have installed 25 heat pumps in our Motel. The team is great to work with and has always completed the work on time, cleaned up after themselves, and worked in when it came to our guests.
