The owners were amazing. They were so kind to change our room to wheelchair access and even reserved a park next to our room for my mum. The room was spotless and very spacious. The staff were very friendly and kind. The towel were generous and the bed was big and very comfortable. I'd definitely recommend staying here!
Came to Napier for a conference and this place completely exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and in a great location — close enough to everything, but still quiet and relaxing. Julian was incredibly helpful and gave us fantastic recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. We also loved having the option to cook in our room or head out for a meal. We stayed for three nights, and the room was cleaned beautifully each day. The beds were super comfortable, and on the day it rained, we were more than happy to just relax and enjoy the space. I had the best experience at this motel. I love everything about it. Clean, stylish, comfortable and it has everything you need in the room. I love the location. We spent 4 nights at Motel de la Mer and it was great! The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the owner gave us lots of fantastic recommendations for places to eat. Our room was spacious, spotless, and really comfortable and we loved the spa bath! The only thing was that it didn’t get much natural light, but that was okay since we were out most of the day anyway. The location couldn’t be better — right across from the beach and close to plenty of restaurants and cafés. We’ll definitely be back!
I’d rate Motel de la Mer in Napier a solid 9.5/10. The location is unbeatable — right across from the beach and just a short walk to cafes, shops, and the heart of town. The room was spotless, quiet, and really comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Even without a spa bath, it still felt cozy and peaceful, perfect for unwinding after a day out exploring. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole place had a calm, coastal charm that made it feel like a home away from home. I’d definitely stay here again.

What amazing hosts so helpful and pleasant to talk to. The room was so clean and tidy and a super comfortable bed. Everything was in the room that we needed. I was surprised how quite the room was at night, even though it is next to a main thoroughfare for traffic. This place will be our go to whenever we head to Napier from now on. Thanks so much for making our stay a pleasant one.
Holiday in Napier often first time at,de la mar. My go to place from now on its outstanding in all ways. Owners go way beyond the norm to help the guests even helped us buy a car which I must say we're very happy with. MANY THANKS TO YOU BOTH
