Had a fantastic 2 nights in the Hotel Te Pania. It was very conveniently located, sunrise was beautiful, breakfast was great, staff was delightful. Wished we stayed in other Scenic Hotels on our journey. Susan Griffin, Susan's Custom Tours

The staff were beyond helpful, they were kind, attentive, and especially accommodating for someone with extra needs re: disability. Being so close to the water and walking distance to many main strips of shops gave us plenty to do and explore. The coffee was delicious, the food (beer battered fish, grilled chicken and risotto, panko chicken schnitzel) were divine and perfect portions. The whole place is so well maintained, clean and comfortable. Again, I must mention the staff who were all so absolutely wonderful, friendly, compassionate and truly the backbone of Te Pania. Would absolutely stay again and would definitely recommend to anyone coming to this part of NZ.

We stayed on the 5th floor in a twin double room. Rooms are clean and the view is delightful. We even found you can open the window when it’s not windy and enjoy the fresh air. Beds are comfy.

I had a truly wonderful stay at Scenic Te Pania Hotel in Napier. From the moment I arrived, everything was seamless – the accommodation was comfortable, clean, and well-appointed, making it easy to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. What really stood out was the food – absolutely amazing! I had the best steak meal I’ve ever had in a hotel, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The dining experience alone would bring me back. Overall, Te Pania delivered on every front – great service, delicious food, and a relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Napier!

At first glance this hotel is superbly located looking out towards the turquoise water of the bay. In fact it is the other side of a busy-ish road from the beach and while rooms on the top floor may have a good view, our second floor room just looked out onto the road. There was quite a lot of traffic noise including motorbikes speeding up and down late at night. The rooms all have full height windows looking out towards the bay, but this also means that on the lower floors anyone walking or driving by can see straight in down the length of the room. Hence for privacy we had a blind down most of the time. The room was adequately appointed and comfortable, though the AC was a little noisy and I am not a fan of the "shower over bath" setup. Staff were friendly and helpful and there is parking at the back of the hotel. The breakfast buffet, however, was not as good as I would have hoped. All this said, we had a pleasant couple of days in Napier with some nice walks along the sea front and visits to a local museum and the cathedral. There seems to be quite a lot going on in the town and of course it is a good place to visit if you want to tour the local wineries.

Here for a business trip for a couple of nights, the location is great as it is directly across the road from the Ocean and the Ocean Spa and just a couple mins to the centre area of Napier. The rooms are a bit tired in places and need upgrading (namely the bathrooms), but the views from the upper floors are great. The restaurant is a bit disappointing. Good tasting dinners but small portions and very high $$$ so not really worth it. Breakfast buffet is very disappointing. Order from the breakfast menu instead for hot food and better quality.

We try to get to Napier at least once a year and always stay at Te Pania. The location is perfect and the views simply can't be beaten. It's an easy walk into the CBD to cruise the galleries and antique shops and the Napier restaurants are excellent. Parking is a breeze at the hotel - a car is ideal as you will want to explore the coast and the vineyards. The staff are always friendly and ready to help with whatever you need. We will certainly be back.

We loved our stay. Was a lovely room. Beds were comfy. Service was great. They even let a family member in before our check in to decorate the room with balloons for my sons birthday. A dream come true for Master 7!

I stay here often. This was the first time I have arrived back and my room had not been serviced or have clean towels. That was slightly off putting due to being out all day and just want to shower and relax when I got back. But understandable due to the amount of rooms. I always enjoy my stays here.

Fabulous and great value We really enjoyed our stay! Amazing right from the get go, the lady who checked us in was super nice, our room was lovely with amazing views, fabulous restaurant & bar staff and incredible food! They also have onsite free parking. We asked for a late check out and they had no problem offering us 11am check out. They are so close to all the fabulous things Napier has to offer! Totally recommend starting here! Date of stay: July 2023
