Waiting to be served by the staff I clearly interrupted an animated "discussion" between the three staff members to be asked "are you right". Not a good start. I chose to have a date and walnut scone, and asked for it to be only lightly heated. It came out nuked! I tried to enjoy it anyway but it was very dry and inedible not the nice taste of walnut and date I've had at other cafes. I think the walnuts were rancid and they overpowered the dates. I would have pointed it out to the staff at the time but they had resumed their "discussion". It sounded like something that should have been dealt with in private. Not an enjoyable experience.

The only option for drinks and food other side the security gates at Dunedin airport. 10 minutes before the boarding call they open the service, for a full flight of travellers. Don’t be misled by the sign that suggests there is a café after security. Get your supplies before security.

Great coffee. Good ham & cheese omelette, the hash cakes served with eggs Benedict had ice in the middle of them - maybe process gap in the kitchen. Cabinet contained a fine range of sandwiches and breakfast items including croissants

Fuel to Fly offers a decent experience if you temper your expectations for an airport café. Located before security, it’s important to note that their menu availability can be extremely limited. During our visit, key items such as avocado, halloumi, and chicken were unavailable, forcing us to ask, “What do you actually have?” While this initially set a low tone for the visit, we were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and quality of the food they did offer. The scrambled eggs on toast and the burger were both sizable and surprisingly delicious, far exceeding our adjusted expectations. The coffee was satisfactory, meeting the standard for New Zealand, though not remarkable. Another positive was the comfortable seating, which provided a pleasant spot to relax while waiting. Overall, while the extensive menu might mislead you into thinking there are abundant options, be prepared for a pared-down selection. If you stick with what’s available, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised by the quality. Fuel to Fly may not deliver on its full menu, but for an airport café, it offers a satisfying meal and a comfortable space to unwind before your flight.

Fantastic coffees including soy flat white from the Barista sporting dreadlocks, great service, really friendly and on the way back out they even let us try the wine before buying. Lovely smiley staff. Remember, this is an airport so nothings ever going to be perfect but these people were great. Thanks.

Granola with yoghurt and seasonal fruit: delicious. One small issue -seasonal fruit is not 4 small apricot halves from a can! Coffee good and service very friendly.

Ordered iced and hot drinks - both were terrible. They have no idea how to properly steam milk for a cappuccino which was more like a bad flat white. The iced mocha was disgusting (it tasted like burnt petrol) and I threw it out before I could even finish it. The more mature lady was quite rude but the younger guy was alright. 100% recommend eating before coming to the airport and supporting this business.

Don’t usually review run of the mill service transactions but was so impressed with the service at Fuel To Fly that I just had to do it. Both the young guy at the counter that served us, and the chef that delivered our meals were professional, courteous and friendly. More than that, they cared, and took obvious pride in their work. Such refreshing interactions from staff in what I have noted is an increasingly jaded industry. A credit to the industry and the airport. The meals were tasty, and the coffee hot and flavourful. Great start to the day!

Perfect coffees, very clean set up and super friendly team. Perhaps one of the best cheese rolls in Dunedin. Thanks team, you rock
