My Beautiful Daughter bought me here for Father’s Day (Sat). Never been here before one of the best mouse traps I’ve ever eaten and I eat a few but a stunning gourmet pie (Corned Beef) and I hope when you visit it’s still only eight dollars unbelievable value. Mosgiel it’s lucky to have such quality food in a cafe. DJ

This little cafe is not very welcoming of babies and young children and I will not be returning to this cafe. I popped in here with my seven month old son after visiting the Mosgiel library. I was meeting my sister here with her 8 month old daughter. I was greeted on arrival and asked if I would like to order anything. As I had my hands full with my son, I said I would find a seat first. My son was due a bottle and as I didn't have my pram with me, I had to juggle holding him, while I prepared his bottle. I kept receiving sideway glances from one of the workers who appeared from the kitchen and from customers as well. I was doing my best to prepare a bottle as fast and safely as I could, as well as trying to reassure my son. The worker who was giving me sideways glances also made a very unhelpful and rude comment " I always wonder what age it is appropriate for a child to have a tantrum at the supermarket." My child can be demanding when he is hungry I get that, but he is not a toddler having a tantrum, he is seven months old! The seating is also not suitable for bottle or breastfeeding and if you have babies or young children, save yourself the hassle of visiting this unfriendly cafe.

Great experience here! The Steak, JalapeΓ±o and Cream Cheese Pie was unreal. Just jam packed with steak which is hard to come by now and was as juicy as Lucy! Partner loved the cheese roll also. Two ladies were lovely too.

Didn't meet my expectations, thought overall it was a good experience. Cabin food was really yummy, however coffee was not hot enough for me.

This place is awesome! Tasty selection of baked goods (hard to choose). Beef Cheek pie was very rich and moreish. Prices are very good too. Friendly staff, will be back.

The food looks amazing, the two ladies there were smiley and super friendly! I had high expectations from the previous reviews, and how it all looked but I was actually a little underwhelmed in the eating and drinking. Nothing was wrong - no! :-) But it wasnt as exciting as I thought it was going to be; the warmed cheese muffin was cold on the inside (not halved before going in the sandwich press....and the coffee was well crafted, nice microfoam, extraction was ok - but just a bit underwhelming, flavour and texture wise (think my latte got the end of a jug of milk from previous coffee, so the texture was no longer in the milk.) Like I said - awesome friendly staff and the food looks beautiful! :-)

A new cafe in mosgiel and came highly recommended by a work colleague. Had few coffees and some baking. Very friendly and experienced owner who whipped the coffees and had a decent yarn too. Food looks very rustic in the cabinet. Everything tasted good, coffees could have been hotter as requested for Xtra hot coffees. Overall, satisfactory and worth a try
