A colleague took me for lunch and its been years since Id been here and we'll worth the visit. Lunch was really good, generous portions. We both couldn't finish our meals and my friend took the last rib she couldn't finish home in a takeaway box! And we're both pretty big eaters! Its not the menu you'd necessarily expect and I can highly recommend!
Advertised UFC 322. Got to the second last fight and they just switched it off for their quiz night. Started off by waiting for 7plus minutes to get served a drink. Would not have spend hundreds on drinks and food knowing we'd get evicted to the smokers zone to finish the event. We got removed to the freezing cold with a poor quality tv which just looked blue and had zero sound. Nowhere to sit. Do not book two events at the same time and have one group miss out. Rediculous. Would have just watched at home if we knew this was the case. I dont ever leave reviews but this is as poor as service gets.
We had great service. Plain pub and food.
I've tried a lot of roasts in Dunedin and hands down this is the best. The lunch special with desert is really good value and the staff are really lovely. This is a gem, would highly recommend the meals and atmosphere. They have a chef who knows what they are doing.
Yummy food for a very good price! Lunch was $17.50 for two courses - main + dessert. Very generous portions, awesome staff and nice atmosphere cheers guys! We will be back!
Been there twice. Both times drank a few beers and ate some finger food. First time, it gave me very bad gastro. The beers are basic. Nothing too exciting. We watched a rugby game. People standing up in front of the screen but staff not doing anything about it (despite asking them to have a word with them). The pool table is good. The screens are mostly good. One dodgy one. Bar staff not the warmest. Overall, I'd only go back if there was a big game on and I couldn't find anywhere else to see it. Has potential though.
I hadn't been here for years and regularly used to eat here in the past. The service is wonderful and friendly. We arrived just before midday on a Saturday. I was blown away by how quiet the place was. Only 1 other diner with people casually dropping in eventually. The food was very nice and I would go back.
One particular barman ruined the experience for 2 out of the 3 groups. Abusive to people for no reason, disgusting behavior. Even the Security man was shocked. Shame as it is a nice bar, 15 people won't be back. We didn't have a meal, just drinks.
The lady who took my order was lovely and patient, let me take my time to decide, and food was at the table in a timely manner. Food tasted good. Had the gf option of roast for lunch (DID NOT REACT). Good experience all round
Took my daughter out for lunch. We are both so full. Prices are good, place is warm. Thought it might have been busier for school holidays. Mushroom sauce is on point. Meals came out reasonably quick as well.
