I found this restaurant on Google Maps while searching for halal places to eat. Honestly, when I walked in and saw it empty, I was surprised and prepared myself for a bad experience. But thankfully, the restaurant proved me wrong — the food was amazing, delicious, and satisfying. We ordered the mixed grill for two people, and honestly, it could easily feed three! The plate was large and full, and despite how tasty it was, we couldn’t finish it. I highly recommend this place — the prices are reasonable compared to other restaurants, especially considering the generous portions. Thank you, and I wish you continued success! The staff were frindly and smailly.

About Us
On the plate at Paasha Turkish Cafe & Restaurant, the idea is coffee-and-cabinet and well executed. Outdoors works well when the weather plays along. Grill work shows a clean sear and rested meats. Value feels fair for the spread. Sweets lean classic and not overly rich.

I have been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed with their food or service. It's not super expensive and the food is fresh. Sometimes it's super busy so I had to wait a bit long for the order to be served. This place has been a Dunedin favourite for years, consistently maintaining its high quality and generous portions. Always a reliably delicious meal at a great price.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS AND TRADITIONAL TURKISH FOOD! Finally! Cuisine in New Zealand is hard to come across traditional foods from difference countries. Living in Toronto my whole life the options were endless! We got the shareable platter between me and my boyfriend AND WE DEVOURED THE WHOLE THING!! Thank you to our kiwi waiter (that sounded Canadian, but a traveler so he picked up multiple accents along the way). His service was polite and apologized for the long wait, but it was awesome when everything showed up and he asked if we wanted and EXPLAINED what was on our dish. ABSOLUTELY 5 star service. Thank you Kiwi Canadian sound-alike. Not bland, great taste, not over salted, tabouli was so fresh. I wish the full pastry had some spinach in it, a bit too rich and creamy, but now I’m just being picky. 5 stars, would go back tomorrow if I lived in Dunedin. 1,000% must try. All the waiters actually were on point. Great service. Just the long wait (40-50min was a bit too much), but thankful we got a table. Until next time!

Absolutely always delivers. Never misses the mark at all. Got a big sharing platter with all bits and it was absolutely delicious. There was something for everyone and it was so filling and suited my group well. I have been here multiple times and it has not once let me down. Absolutely recommend

Probably the best restaurant experience I've had. Found us a seat (no booking) on a busy night within 30 seconds and took our orders within a couple of minutes. Food then took no more than 10 minutes to come out and was the best Turkish I've eaten for a reasonable price. Got the paasha shared platter (for two), which was more than enough food. This dish had all the different meats available, and is a perfect dish for when you can't decide what to order. Our waters were instantly replaced when finished , and I can't find a fault with this restaurant if I tried. Will definitely be back.

First time I've been back here in years ( now live out of Dunedin) the food is just as amazing as it was years ago, staff super friendly. Highly recommend.

I tried this restaurant on the basis of its high google rating. Sadly, they failed to meet their ratings. I ordered a Doner meal, and they served the meat cold to luke warm. To make it worse, the meat was dry. It tasted like it had been cooked a while ago, and had dried out and became cold. The bread was warmer than the meat. The salad was ok, and that's the only positive about what they served. They must pay attention to what they serve, as most customers know the difference between good and dodgy food. Thank you.

Best Turkish food we have had in a veryyy long time!! The food was very tasty, and great portions. Since we couldn’t decide what to choose, we ordered the shared plate for 2 with a mixed of meat and side dishes. My friends both ordered a lamb dish. The meat was just fresh, and grilled just right. We also had some coffee, apple tea (too sweet for my taste), and the baklava dessert which was perfect. The portion of the baklava was quite big and I wouldn’t order it for 1. The restaurant was really busy for a Wednesday evening. So it might be smart to make reservations. My only recommendation would be to add “Ayran” (Turkish yoghurt drink) to the drink list, (and make the Apple tea less sweet).
