A lovely local pub meal. The pan fried blue cod was outstanding and hubby's snitzel definitely hit the spot. A calm atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

SHOUT OUT to the staff! They are very welcoming. I like to come here to have a pint and a game of pool - Monday's are good because there's no quiz or texas hold 'em which are rather busy nights @ the R&T. The restaurant side is popular so I'd usually make a booking but we have also randomly popped in for a meal and been seated quickly. We have come here for family celebrations on a number of occasions because there are larger than average spaces, including the function room available.

Found this place by chance while looking for a dinner venue that didn’t have a long wait. They have parking out at the back for guests and also has a gaming zone at the back of the restaurant. Food was ok and service was not as quick as they only had 2 associates on the floor serving the dining area (which is fair given the number of customers at that point in time - around 6.30pm). The cod dish was fresh and nicely fried, fries could have been a little crispier. The roast lamb was nice and soft, with crisp baby potatoes and steamed vegetables at the side which was fresh as well. You usually have rings for calamari so this was a little odd shaped. If you need a quick decent meal without long queues, here’s a place for you to go. The price to value ratio is 1, so you get what you pay for.

Very Very disappointed, booked a birthday diner for 5 at 7.00 pm, mains arrived ok after ordering, table slow to be cleared (only 3 of the the 5 plates removed), waited about 20 minutes before we went to ask for service so we could have the rest of the plates cleared and order dessert to be told the kitchen was closed now, asked for a coffee but the coffee machine was also switched off so couldn't get that either. this is at 8.30.p.m. The conversation about our disappointment withthe staff seemed like the staff were only interested in what they could do for us to not write a review on our experience. (as thats what were were asked). Asked for the owners details so I could call and was told they didn't have them, gave them my card to give to the owner to call us but they didn't want to take it to pass on, but I insisted it get passed on. I would not recommend as an enjoyable experience.

Was taken for my birthday dinner and had to go to the bar to ask for some to take our order (which included a kids combo and activity pack). Food was good. It took the new waitress a long time to come for 3 of the 5 plates on the table, she did not return for the rest of them. After what seemed like 20-30 minutes I again went to ask about getting service for dessert to be told that the kitchen closed at 8:30. I then asked for the kids activity pack and dessert to be taken off the bill. The manager (who unfortunately had tried her best to keep everything running smoothly) came over to try to sort out the situation but by this stage we were pretty disappointed in the experience and were only interested in paying and leaving. After spending $170 on 5 meals and 7 drinks I am pretty gutted by the whole experience and will not be returning or recommending this as an option for dining.

Another one of the top grade food in South Dunedin. This is a restaurant cum bar which serves traditional pub foods. We all like the food we had here during boxing day. They were nicely done and delicious, especially the porky ones. I'm a bit disappointed that the blue cod was not so fresh. But the prawns were springy and fresh. Service and serving of food was fast, and the place had a quiet ambience, which is good for catching up with family and friends.
