   Tried calling over 3 times but no one answered. Managed to drive there half an hour before closing and they wernt concerned that we had tried to call to place an order. We wanted to let them know we were on our way instead of getting there last minute. Food is great but answer your phone please

   I rang to order. No answer. Went there, but had one look at the number of people waiting, another look at the fish in the draining baskets that look way over cooked and decided to go to another place for takeaways. This used to be a great fish and chips shop when the girls were running it. Now some rough looking man, a boy that needs a hair net and 1 other staff member.

   The photos don't do justice to how burnt and dry the food is. I feel like the hot dog took one look at the old oil & the batter slid right off in protest lol. I've probably felt like giving a 1 star review with these guys at least 10 times now, but it's a local business so I’ve restrained. This was last week and today we went to a different place (picture with credit card) and the difference was too much...so here it is.1 star. Sorry. Just assume nobody wants the burnt food unless they specifically request it :)

   The crumbed blue cod is absolutely wonderful and the chips have to be the best we have had in Kaiapoi to date. Overall a great place to get a takeaway from. 4 Stars purely because they do not answer the phone at times so you cannot place a phone order for collection.

   Decent fish and chips. Chips always cooked well but can be a little over salted at times. Otherwise, it is a great choice of items, and everything generally tastes way better than the typical fish and chip joints!

   I was absolutely amazed with the meal I received. Not only was it cooked to perfection , it was reasonably cheap, i was so happy with the meal, I actually rang the owners and congratulation them on there efforts, well done, I will be back. If you ask me, it's the best God Dam Fish and Chips on this side of the Pacific. Shane.

   Absolutely love coming here to order crumbed hoki or tarakihi fish for 5.00 each. Best fish down here in south island. You gotta try it so moist and mouth watering.,,☺️ Most places are dry.
