   I was really impressed by rascals! Our server, Adam, was the perfect balance of present, attentive and invisible. He gave us some really great wine and cocktail recommendations and was generally very knowledgeable about all the food/drinks menus- he made us feel really welcome and relaxed! The food was fabulous, our highlights were definitely the venison tataki and the crab pani puri was easily one of the best dishes I've eaten in a very long time! All of the cocktails we had were also interesting, delicious and absolutely perfectly balanced. It was so good we went back for a bottle of wine and some patatas bravas the next day! Thanks to the team for making our night so special!

   Food was really disappointing. We had (mushrooms, croquettes, patatas bravas) and they were way too salty. The tofu was surprisingly good wish there was more sauce. So food was ok but not for the price. Service really wasn’t service. One server for the entire room on a Wednesday. It took 20minutes to get a drink order in and even though we wanted dessert, it took 35 minutes after we finished eating to get the table cleared. Not once did he check in with us on how things were going. After finishing my glass of wine, I was not asked if I wanted another or a different drink. At that point we just wanted to leave (atmosphere issues). Also mentioned at the start my wife is pregnant and after declining dessert the server recommended tequila shots… Atmosphere is great if you’re in a group and enjoy shouting conversations otherwise good luck trying to hear your date. The music was loud the acoustics of the place force everyone to talk louder, not a good spot for a romantic occasion.

   We had a fantastic night out at Rascal for a birthday dinner. We had great sharing plates with awesome flavour combinations. Their wine list by the glass is well-chosen and the by the bottle list is amazing. The service is superb, Adam is very knowledgeable and a great host. We definitely need to come back, because there's more for us food and wine lovers to discover.

   My absolute favourite eatery in Christchurch - top tier, mind blowing food, customer service that ALWAYS exceeds expectations, amazing vibe and atmosphere! Cocktails and mock tails to die for, the food is beyond amazing. The team are always so kind and accommodating and I cannot recommend this place enough! 10/10 recommend!

   WARNING: Small portions This restaurant is ideal for going out on a date. I find their set up a bit compact and not ideal for big groups. However, If you book ahead, I'm sure they can work something out for you. Their staff are all very friendly and provide excellent service. I LOVE their pork belly with candy floss ( I know right?!) Not a cheap restaurant but we got a deal from first table. I really enjoyed their food!

   Friendly staff, good vibe, yummy cocktails! Food wise, we ordered a mix of small plates and medium plates to share. everything was beautifully presented and tasty, especially the pork belly with candy floss on top. Overall interesting experience!
