Hotel does not exist anymore, flew down to Christchurch from Auckland with lots of luggage and only to be told by the hotel with the same address as this that the Arden does not exist anymore but are still making bookings, be careful not to book this hotel, you will be charged for a room that does not exist!!
The big sell for this Hotel was the fitness center as I wanted somewhere safe to exercise. It was great for a simple work out. I would say it's only big enough got 2 people. The room itself was comfortable and simple. The only down side is the closest restaurants are all Indian which is great is all you want is indian.

Nice place. Looks very clean and new. Well located near the Christchurch city center. Entrance on salisbury Street although not obvious, sign is on Colombo street guiding you around. Car parking off salisbury street which is one way from West to East.
I have stayed at the hotel twice and it is impeccably clean and modern. It's very new and finished to a good standard, the staff are helpful. The hotel is excellent value at the current rates.
Easy parking outside on the weekend. Room was quiet with a view of the hills but also the wall. We had an executive room which on first impressions was small. Everything thing functioned though and would recommend based on price, central location and cleanliness. Monsoon shower was a plus. For an executive room I expected more towels, wine glasses and a slightly better view.
