   My husband and I are Malaysian tourists, we were staying at Christchurch for the night. This place was recommended by a friend. My husband doesn’t eat beef so he ordered the chicken burger called the lumberjack snack and I order the mini OG(beef burger). Both burgers was so delicious!! Everything was perfect. PS. We drove down from Queenstown, and I’d say this is better than Ferg’s burger.

   1/9/24- A shadow of its former self. Have been eating here for years, no more for us! Skinny fries were old, hard and terrible to eat. clearly these are from yesterday. For the Burger we had the babe as we always have. Chicken was so over cooked it was brown, tough and inedible. This truely was a terrible experience compared to days gone by. Burger fuel is by far a better option … catcha

   Used to always go to Velvet in Auckland and was very disappointed on this trip to find that outlet shut up for good - so I was really happy to find one within walking distance of where we are staying in Christchuch. Expectations were very high and thankfully met. I had the Cheesy Bro (delicious, juicy and definitely cheesy), my wife went all in for the Big Bro (she misses those archetypal eggy NZ burger), while daughter chose the Luxe Burg chicken offering. The fluffy lightness of the bun makes the burger filling and yet not heavy at the same time. Coupled with delicious kumara fries, Velvet was a great as ever.

   Ordered a big brown burger. Big let down. Comes with 2 patties. Patties nowhere near the size of the bun, like way to small for the buns.. And to be honest, they were terrible beef patties. Really reminded me of cheap frozen section supermarket sort of stuff.. with some of the places around doing some mean burgers.. I won't come here.

   Was not busy when we went, well priced for what it is, and very fast and friendly service. Very filling and tasted great. Also were very accommodating to modifications on the burger. Only suggestion would be writing on the menu what the salad on the burger actually is (it had tomato, cucumber and lettuce). Edit: Turns out the salad is outlined on the menu on the wall (tomato, cucumber, lettuce and red onion).

   Enjoyed the burger, it was delicious, but feel like a sturdier bun is required to hold all the filling, less chance of it falling apart. The service was great and friendly. The atmosphere was flat, maybe as it was a cold night. Would definitely go again
