There's no much parking space around it but you can still manage to find one. The place is cool. It has different rooms to enter and explore souvenir shop, op shop and the information center. The Dog and the Lamb. It's nice, you can just stop by and explore around the area. There's a lot of cafe and restaurant nearby.

PublicToilets need to be in better condition. Remove the doors completely from Toilets. Use rain water tanks for running water. NZ has a lot of rain. It's cheap and free running water. Local council should employ staff to spray water on the floor. In Korea, Japan Singapore public Toilets are tidy and clean. It is a health hazard to have such smell. Understand its not in your control how people do their business but this is a small service provided by council for tourists. Good luck

My rating is actually based on the metal sculptures of animals on top of the buildings there and in the rest of the town, as the Info Center was closed when I came through. The dog and two sheep reflect the livelihood of many of the locals, plus give a sense that these people don’t take themselves too seriously. This is a darling little town, with cute shops and places to eat, and it’s only about 15 minutes from Hobbiton.

Very friendly helpful staff. Seem to have some good interactive information for children. There’s 24 hr toilets alongside. Not the cleanest, but convenient and considering the number of people going and going through the small township not too bad.

Handy but not much else going for it. Doesn't have proper toilet seats, just those raised black bits on the sides. Men's toilets closed (Easter, really??) So Ladies became unisex, otherwise men were having to wait to use the one disabled toilet. C'mon local council, it's a top tourist toilet stop, do better please!
