Were enjoyable experience! Highly recommend it. If you try to book when the sky is clear with no moon, you will also have the chance for stargazing! Richard was amazing and very professional.

Absolutely enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it to anyone! We had Jack and Lochy as our guides, such lovely lads. It was the calmest day on the water anyone could ever ask for. We had total of 8 kayaks in our group. We took our time to paddle out to the Pokaiwhenua Stream, the scenery is just beyond words, so quiet and calm. We then stopped for some snacks organised by The Boatshed Kayaks, cheese and crackers (my fav), toasted marshmallows (my husband's fav), chocolate biscuits, wine and/or hot chocolate. It was dark when we packed up and headed out, which was intentional, because this is when you get to see the amazing glow worms along the stream in the dark. We travelled along the stream very slowly with each guide taking 4 Kayaks human-chained next to each other. There's no rush, we just floated on the water and Jack gave us the info about glow worms and the area. Made it back to shore around 10.30pm, safe and sound, and dry! Come and join The Boatshed Kayaks for the Glow Worms Adventure Tour, you will get an unforgettable experience. Thank you Richard and his team for the amazing experience.

Amazing evening with Richard touring the Pokaiwhenua River. Glow worms were incredible. Highly recommend doing this adventure! We did this with our 2 x children (9 and 9) with ease.

We are group of 16, 9A and 7C. Emma Rose Trent are the most professional patient fun guides we can ask for! We had absolutely blast!!!!!! The bonfire on the riverside and kayaking along the glow worms were beyond our expectation. Definitely recommend!

Our group (adults & kids) have had an unforgettable kayak trip last Friday! The tour guide were very professional and friendly, this is probably the closest and largest number of glow worms I have ever seen in my life so far, and there were full of stars in the the sky which was breathtaking! We enjoyed every moment, highly recommend this activity and company to everyone!!

We made the major mistake of hiring the sit on kayaks and weren't given any indication that they wouldn't be suitable for kayaking for a decent distance or length of time. One of us is quite large and really it wouldn't take their weight and was hardly above the water and they didn't think to let us know that this wouldn't be suitable for the trip we told them we were going to do. .When we mentioned this on return they seemed pretty ambivalent and admitted we should have hired different ones if we had wanted to kayak to the waterfalls. Which we told them at the beginning. Was the worst kayak experience we have ever had and we all usually really enjoy kayaking so it was very disappointing.

We saw this advertised on Grab One and had never heard of night time kayak trips to see glow worms. In fact we usually drive through the Cambridge area on the way to somewhere else, so we planned a trip around it and were not disappointed. It was well organised and the pre communication was very good especially closer to the time. The guides were young and very experienced. Their health and safety briefings were calm, practical and precise. Not everyone had kayaked before but they were patient and made it possible for everyone to enjoy the experience. Coming back in the dark we were in two raft formations each with a guide. Their knowledge of the glow worms was excellent and it was very surreal going through a section of the tributary with high canyon walls, glow worms everywhere and a full moon. It was so quiet.... Going back across the small section of the Waikato we had pole lights at the back and the current was very weak so it was easy and I just felt guilty that we didn't have to do anything. Emma and Blake packed everything up in the dark which would have taken quite a while.

We had a wonderful time! We were a little bit late and our tour guide Blake was really nice guy. He waited us for 20 minutes. The kayaking was really fun. He also told us a lot about the glow worms. It's was a trip of life time according to the three boys. Part of the adventure was has a camp fire and toasted marsh mellow. It's Scouts style activity. The glow worm was and the night sky full of stars are just breathtaking! We had an unforgettable night.
