I'll keep it short but sweet: WARNING Do not buy vehicles from Car Supermarket. They are in the business of selling lemons. All the 1 star reviews, plus now my experience, are blatant evidence of this. Your new vehicle will very likely have problems. And once you tell them your new vehicle has problems, they will tell you that it doesn't; even if you have clear evidence of these problems. And you will have to stand your ground until you get the results you want. Which likely means arguing for weeks. Which likely means some people will be stuck with the lemon they were sold by this registered motor vehicle dealership because they are not equipped to deal with such malpractice. Which is a completely unacceptable standard of business in my opinion; although I'm sure the commerce commission would agree. Do not buy vehicles from Car Supermarket.

DO NOT BUY FROM CAR SUPERMARKET This is not a 1 star rating, this is a zero star rating. We had a terrible experience and we were sold an absolute lemon. This is an unprofessional company that I wouldnβt recommend to my worst enemy. They sold my wife a car that they obviously hadnβt done any checks or due diligence on prior to selling. (Warning! Donβt buy their ex lease MG vehicles that come from Avis or whoever, as they donβt check them at all.) It was so hard to getting information or any communication out of Ethan, that we called the repairer ourselves and discovered that there were other things that were wrong with the car from what these guys had passed on to us. After a few weeks of being mucked around we kept pushing for a refund as we had been led to believe that we had purchased a decent vehicle in working order which obviously we had not. We finally got a refund out of these clowns a couple of weeks later. In no way should these two (Grant or Ethan) be allowed to work in this industry, they are untrustworthy, unreliable, and generally unreasonable people. Please shop elsewhere and save yourself and your family the stress of dealing with these two.

Car Supermarket, over the years, with all their negative reviews, both Grant and Ethan have taken good measures to improve their professionalism by valuing their customer's needs. With a prospective attitude, they have stepped up the game. Higher resale value encourages me to keep buying and trading with them. They listen to our needs and fix them to make things right. I bought a Subaru exiga 2008 on November 30th 2023 from Oliver he was so rude and immature towards my family and I, we ended up calling the boss Grant, we asked for all the paperwork on what the car had previously had done and itβs wof as well, we were told it would get emailed to us , the car was fine and working great until the 23rd of December 2023 when I was driving with my 2 young kids and my partner in the car and all of a sudden the car went from 100kph down to 80kph when we got into town the car would not go more than 20kph up hills and the car stalled and turned off mid way, we parked the car up and then on the 24th of December 2023 the car wouldnβt slow down or turn the wheel as usual when going around corners then when my partner returned home the car was smoking and was unsafe to drive so we parked up and left it for a few days fast forward to the 27th of December 2023 we got in contact with the dealership and they said someone would come and pick it up, they ended up picking it up at 7 pm and I ended up missing out on work since we were an hour away, they then took the car away and took them 4 weeks to return it once it was returned I once again asked about all the paperwork but was still told they would email me it I than call grant and asked him if he could send it he than became rude and ignored my request, then the carβs engine light was on so I then contacted them to get it sorted they drove down to where Iβm located which is 2 hours away from Christchurch and then drove my car with itβs engine light on all the way to Christchurch, they had the car for 4 days, fast forward to the 18 of march 2024 I was driving and the car all of a sudden started violently jilting/jerking I pulled over immediately and contacted the dealership and asked for a refund and to return the car they declined my request with out reason so they picked the car up for repairs but didnβt pick it up till the 1st of April 2024, on the 12 of April 2024 they contacted me saying they accept my offer of a refund but didnβt explain why they accepted it, I went for a day trip to Christchurch on the 21st of April 2024 and saw the vehicle on the lot with the licence plate removed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP

These guys sell lemons!! They didn't bother registering the car or change the ownership of the trade in or the boat anchor they sold me....went back with a list of things wrong with it and now they aren't returning calls..I'm looking into legal action.

The worst service I have ever had... I will not recommend this place to anyone. I have been waiting for weeks to have the faults sorted out on the car I bought from them and not even a reply from the salesman.
