New to Chch and NZ and needed medical help. Went in on Wednesday and the nurses were truely caring and kind and supportive. They took the time to get to know me and understand what was wrong. Took good care of me while waiting for results. Coming from Australia medical system, I was not used to this high level of care. Thank you to the nurses that helped me! I can see you enjoy what you do!

I enjoyed my experience at Moorhouse Medical Centre. I was in and out within an hour and a half. Nurses were talkative and very friendly, were also caring and gentle. The area was clean. Nurses were efficient at helping eachother and other patients. Nice and air conditioned on a hot day.

We had a terrible experience at Moorhouse Medical Centre. My mum was very unwell and nearly fainted, yet we were left waiting for hours with no help or communication. It felt like we were treated differently from other patients because weβre brown, which was really upsetting and disappointing.

Today, I went to the Moorhouse Medical Centre because my daughter was feeling unwell, so I took time off work to take her there. In my hurry, I entered the centre without noticing any signs outside. When the receptionist attended to me, I noticed a small board, but before I could read it, she abruptly asked, βHow can we help you?β I explained that my daughter needed to see a doctor. She asked if I had an appointment, and I said no. Then, with a condescending tone, she asked if I had seen the board. I admitted I hadnβt, and she responded dismissively, making me feel embarrassed for not checking the board before entering. It felt like a big mistake on my part, and I didnβt know what to say. She then gave me a list of other hospitals to visit and asked if I wanted to see a nurse before going to one of them. I agreed, saying, βYes, sure.β She said something else, but I couldnβt quite understand it. I sat down and waited for our turn. When the nurse called us, she asked the same question about the board, which made me feel even worse. Honestly, if it werenβt for my daughter, I would have left the moment the receptionist treated me poorly. However, because of my daughter, I stayed. In the end, I want to say that if someone doesnβt notice or check a board before entering, it doesnβt justify embarrassing them. There are kinder ways to inform someone, so you donβt ruin their day.

Everyone's experience with Moorhouse Medical is different I suppose and some people must be pretty upset when they write their review. My experience is simple. I could not get an appointment with my own GP for 7-days so the 2-hours I had to wait at Moorhouse Medical seems like 'nothing'. Yes, I was told over the phone that there was no body waiting...which must have change in the time it took me to drive there...but putting everything into context, I received great service.

Waited a few hours without being seen. I came in with excruciating back pain, could barely walk and got told to take a seat. After waiting a few hours I asked if or when I was getting seen and was advised that they have a triage system and that I kept getting pushed back. Furthermore I got told I have been pushed so far back that I still could be waiting a while. I said I couldnβt wait any longer and that I need to go somewhere else. I rudely got told that Iβll just be waiting there too, what this ignorant receptionist didnβt know was that on the same day I organised a phone consult with my regular GP, got my prescription and felt much better. Got a refund from this poor excuse of a GP practice and left. Waste of time going here. Rude, ignorant and just downright inhumane. I will be making a formal complaint to the Health & Disability Comissioner as waiting for hours in their waiting room with a bad back has potentially caused me more damage that I believe they should be held liable & accountable for.

I am very disgusted at the service provided. My partner went to get some serious medical attention as he was having chest pains and the receptionist was so rude and basically turned him away because of a prior criminal record and for him to even get considered to see a doctor they made him sit there for 3 hours and pushed him to the back of the cue multiple times until he had enough and went back and complained for the 10th time. Any human being deserves to be treated with medical care despite any past history. I am going to be writing a formal complaint as the medical care is atrocious.

Charlette on reception is AMAZING!!!, I called very unhappy with my doc for not doing a referral he was meant to, she called me back within minutes, arranged appointment for the same day at no charge and got me in front of a doc who genuinely cared. 6/5 stars for her, she deserves a pay rise!!! The other older lady at reception could learn a few things from Charlette about how to communicate and show empathy as she is stuck in the 60's and should consider retirement . Thanks again Charlette, keep up the amazing work

Was told there was space to be seen in the next 20 minutes, we made our way down within 20 minutes as instructed. Then told at reception that the limit was in place but they will see us as we had discussed on the phone, filled out all the forms with my three year old who was in pain. After waiting we were then told we wouldnt in fact be seen and should go to the 24 hour surgery instead. Complete time waste when there is a child in pain and needing care. Just tell someone to go to the 24 hour surgery if there is any doubt and save everyones time.

I've been charged $90 basically for nothing. The first thing I have advised to the reception is we've been registered GP somewhere else but they can't see us today. And we have been told their doctor can see us. However we waited and when we see the doctor, we have been told he can't give medical advice or any treatment because we were not registered in this Clinic??? A waste of money. Don't come if you're not registered with them. First time in my life hearing someone can't give treatment because he's not my GP, I've used several others even online GP while travelling and all of them can diagnose and give out treatment. The star is for the receptionist, they were friendly and very helpful. They even have helped with booking an urgent appointment with our GP.
