I want to preface this by saying I’m a little snobby about food, especially Asian food, and I also really value good service. To their credit, the servers here were attentive and fast. However, I won’t be returning. If you have ever had a preference for flavor, I wouldn’t recommend coming here. But if you prefer sweet/inauthentic Viet food and great service, this could be the spot for you. Unfortunately, the food was a huge miss. I went in with high hopes, especially with the great Google reviews, but the dishes didn’t live up to the praise. My mom and I ordered the monkfish green curry, the beef pho, and the prawn-pork spring rolls. The spring rolls ended up being the only thing we could finish, which isn’t saying much, because they’re pretty hard to mess up in the first place. The pho in particular was disappointing and felt like a sad excuse for westernized beef stew. The textures were off, and the taste was even worse, somehow lacking all the essential flavors while being overwhelmingly sweet and salty. It was topped with peanuts and mint, which was already confusing. Mint in pho? The tough, minty, saccharine beef was almost painful to eat. Two pieces of beef spiked by blood sugar, gave me a headache, and nearly triggered lockjaw. We ended up fishing out the solids and drowning them in chili sauce. Although that made it better, we still couldn’t finish it despite being hungry. The curry didn’t fare much better. The base was far too sweet, the fish was overly salty, and the dish somehow managed to be strong in every flavor except the one it should have had- curry. The good thing is that the lack of flavor meant I didn’t need rice for the couple bites that I had, which would have cost me an extra $4. Woohoo savings! The one saving grace was the spring roll, which was genuinely good.

Been here two times, both times have been excellent. We booked once with very short notice and walked in the other time (just 2 people) and got a table but would advise booking as they are popular. Cocktails are lovely, absolutely beautiful food that arrived quickly. Beef cheeks are the best I've ever had. I recommend this place highly and it is always the place I tell people to visit in Christchurch. Will be back again :)

As a Vietnamese, I would say the food here is kind of mix between Vietnamese and other Asian cuisine. However I and my family still enjoyed the dinner and the service here. I would recommend Clay Pot Sticky pork and steamed rice: very rich and flavorful, combined with Dong salad will bring the balance in tastes. Service is really fast; staffs are professional and responsive. Would come back another time to try Pho.

I had a fantastic experience at this Vietnamese restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. The service was prompt, friendly, and made the entire meal feel smooth and relaxed. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The pho was rich and aromatic, with tender beef and perfectly balanced broth. The fresh spring rolls were crisp and packed with herbs, and the dipping sauce was the perfect complement. Every dish we tried had that authentic homemade touch that makes Vietnamese cuisine so comforting and satisfying. It’s always refreshing to find a place that nails both great food and great service. Highly recommend for anyone craving a hearty bowl of pho or a tasty banh mi in a friendly setting. Will definitely be back!

We had the most delicious meals and cocktails here - had my favourite, chicken Pho and the spring rolls were fresh and crispy - truly delicious. It was a last-minute booking for two and they accommodated us easily as a small restaurant. It has a great atmosphere too. Within walking distance to the Casino and Town Hall etc. Definitely recommend and will be back for sure.

Delicious food (vegan options too!) and really attentive staff. The atmosphere is great. Definately check out Red Light District behind the restaurant (through the 'Laundry') for after dinner cocktails :)

Simple and unassuming from the outside, comfortable, well-lit and uniquely decorated on the inside. Witty and clever names for everything, just like the name of the place. Good presentation of delicious food and very generous portions after the delicate & delicious entree when you order the Mr Gig's Banquet.

Loved the food here! Really accomodating with our booking and we had a limited time to dine and nothing was any trouble. And we loved the food!! Will definitely return

Do yourself a favour & eat here !!! Absolutely EVERYTHING was so flavoursome and tasty. There was nothing we could fault. My table was a group of 7 and we had the most expensive banquet option.
