I went with a really bad pain from a back injury at 16:30. No people at all the waiting room. Just me. And the said they were closing in half an hour so they couldn't take me. What kind of medical center is this? They should close at 4 pm then not 5..it's a shame. You can't get sick or injured in waiheke Island...

I wanted to measure my blood pressure as I am pregnant and had a bad headache. I got to the medical centre (Ostend, Waiheke Island) at 4:45pm and advised reception that I'm pregnant, but the girl seemed not to care. She said, as I didn’t have an appointment, I should go to sent me to the Oneroa medical centre (I’m sorry my pregnant blood pressure didn’t arrange an appointment). I drove to Oneroa Medical centre and got there at 4.55pm, there was no one in the waiting area. Reception asked me again if I had an appointment. (Really! What people is working in the medical centre that don’t let know that blood pressure can’t wait for appointment) Even worse than the way I had been treated, they wanted to charge me $60 to take my blood pressure! (Legally pregnant woman have free healthcare) Due to the fact it was “after hours”, at 4.55pm??? Very unhelpful and unprofessional service.

After 35 + years of wearing contact lenses with no problems one was stuck in my eye for 2 days. I visited the out of hours surgery on Boxing Day as it opened. The receptionist and nurse were very caring. Dr Margaret Karetai spent a good 30 minutes on my eye making sure she had removed all signs. She was kind, gentle and thorough. I felt very relieved and it was worth every cent of the out of hours visitor fee to feel relaxed again. Thank you for your much appreciated care.

The whole team at this centre was wonderful. It was the weekend and as a tourist I didnt know where to go since there are no A&E hospitals in Waiheke. I phoned their 24h emergency line, the receptionist was very helpful and thoughtful. We then drove to the centre and the nurse and doctor were very efficient and friendly. They did all the tests I needed very quickly and the price for non locals was very reasonable. Thank you for you great care and support.

I found the wait times of my last few visits unacceptable, making me wait an hour and a half seems a bit unfair. I needed medical attention and there was no appointments for at least a week. I wasn’t sure why I was left until last to be seen as I hadn’t told anyone why I was there. People came in without appointments and were seen yet I was the last person. Maybe it had something to do with my age or maybe I didn’t appear sick but it shouldn’t matter.

Awesome Waiheke Covid-19 vaccination team! I was feeling Covid weary when I went for my second jab but the team here are fantastic, a real shot in the arm! :) Very friendly, warm, caring and empathic - real fun too. I actually felt uplifted when I left. Thank you so much for doing what you do, in the way you do it! Respect.

Amazing team. We came here because our son had an accident and was very upset and I’m pain. Alice the receptionist was incredible - she was so empathetic and caring and tried so hard to distract and reassure our son. We saw Dr Glenn Twentyman and he was equally reassuring and caring; he was very encouraging and helpful. Highly recommend this clinic.
