Attended a sunset session here. Great vibes, good music. Staff looked happy to be there and were enjoying themselves which was nice. Good service. Awesome location looking out to the beach.

If you're looking for a fantastic spot to enjoy a pint, delicious food, and breathtaking views of the sea with surfers riding the waves, look no further than this gem in Papamoa. Located right on the Domain, just a stone's throw away from the beach, this place is the epitome of relaxation and unwinding. The atmosphere at this restaurant is always lively and vibrant, with great music provided by a DJ or live performers. The staff members are friendly and accommodating, and their cocktail-making skills are top-notch. Whether you prefer a cold beer or a creatively crafted cocktail, they have you covered. One of the best things about this place is its accessibility. You can walk in straight from the beach, even bringing your furry friend along, and find a comfortable booth or opt to sit by the large open windows. This gives you the opportunity to soak up the beach vibes and connect with the local community. During hot summer days, the entire restaurant opens up to the refreshing sea breeze, creating a cool and inviting atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you'll find yourself appreciating the present moment, realizing there's nowhere else you'd rather be. In summary, this restaurant in Papamoa is the perfect destination for those seeking a relaxed and enjoyable experience. With its picturesque views, beach ambiance, friendly staff, and refreshing drinks, it's a place that truly captures the essence of coastal living. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this spot is a must-visit for a memorable time by the sea.

We were there on a rainy night so the bar is not at its best. We ordered oysters and calamari, both were well below the standard elsewhere in Tauranga and NZ. The barman who served us on arrival was welcoming and efficient but the service later for reorders of drinks was very slow. And unfortunately there was a duo performing at a volume not conducive to conversation, even at the other end of the room, which was a shame as they could hold a tune and their playlist was well thought through.

Weβd previously been put off by the busyness of the Beach Bar, but as our table next door wasnβt ready yet we popped in for a drink whilst we waited. We got a spot in the window with the best view ever. But it was freezing with the windows and both outside doors open. My drink was lovely and well presented but there the good points stop. The noise is so deafening itβs almost impossible to have a conversation. I donβt understand how bars donβt consider their space in relation to the volume. Thereβs no soft furnishings, no carpet, drapes or any sound proofing to soak up the noise. Itβs busy so people are chatting and laughing. People who get louder as they compete with the music and each other. Now I appreciate we are older than the intended demographic. But weβre not dead yet. It wasnβt the music that was the issue, it was the volume. The Favourite Husband is slightly deaf (although that appears to be selective) and it was too loud for him. Youβd have thought anything that drowned me out would have delighted him, but no. Itβs fair to say the person having the best night was the DJ.

We love popping down for happy hour. It is a great spot with super views of the beach. Unfortunately the music is often so loud you struggle to have a conversation. Someone on Saturday decided the music needed to go up even louder. I noticed that some people left or moved a a result. Very disappointing. My other comment is around glassware...often there is not enough glasses and staff resort to using odd glasses or only rinsing glasses. Small things that can make someone's experience so much better.
