   We dined with a family of seven and they had something for all ages 70 to 9. Absolutely 5 out of 5 stars with excellent service and amazing food. The brioche bread and potatoes (both sides) were incomparable. Everything we were served was absolutely excellent.

   Sooo disappointed in our experience last night at The Island. We have had the platter before as the meat was so juicy and succulent and well worth the money. The food has gone to absolute rubbish!! We got a $90 platter last night, the 4 ribs we got were small, 1 lamb chop (for the 2 of us) was small and dry, the pork belly bites were all fat, the sausages looked like they were cooked 8 hours earlier and were shrivelled up as well. 1 tiny bottle of BBQ sauce to try and moisten up the dry meat. 2 tiny buns smaller than sliders. Mack cheese was revolting and had a plastic taste. The only thing they got right was the fries! You are encouraged to use QR code and order online, but when you get to the end they want to charge 2.5% to use your card for their zero service!! We were a group of 11 and all the food was terrible. The 250gram sirloin steak was definitely less than 200grams. And then the Caesar salad came out after going to ask for it, then it arrived after we had all finished our food. If you want a drink you have to line up at the bar, and wait forthe 2 slow bartenders to serve you. They had plenty of staff hanging around but were only interested in clearing tables, not checking all the food had arrived. We will definitely not be bringing our out of town visitors here ever again!!

   + Beautiful food. Lots of seating areas to choose from. Reasonable pricing. Pleasant music. - Water glasses were either dirty or stained, we couldn’t tell which. The ordering app was a little dodgy so be careful. Limoncello cocktail extremely sour (like duh yes but this was crazy sour). Sauce bottles all needed a good clean.

   Beefy T burger was really good and also the lemonade. Chicken burger was also really good. Food was hot and fresh. Wait time wasn’t too long but it really does depend on the amount of people there

   Highly recommend the island. The food is always on point the staff and customer service is actually 6 star worthy. Had the platter yesterday. Sensational, pork ribs, sausage, pork belly and lamb loin chops with amazing sides…. SENSATIONAL!

   in one word, it was a total disappointment. i checked menu before my visit and was so excited to see a Jerk chicken on the menu as it is not easy to get in Tauranga. But the result was just a big disappointment. It wasn’t anything close to a Jerk chicken at all. if u named the dish as a bbq chicken, it could have been acceptable but I wouldn’t pay $37 for a simple bbq chicken dish. My friend ordered Thai beef salad and it came with Japanese ginger and udon?! Both dishes didn’t match the names of the dishes, def. false advertisement, so it was just a big disappointed experience. This restaurant could be good for drinks and some chips but i wouldn’t have any meals here again. Actually, i will never go back again.

   What a lovely place, food was a great price and it was so yummy , drinks lovely, delicious cocktail , we had two drinks each and a meal for lunch it was only 108 dollars very reasonable for the two of us, very happy and will definitely going back for more , love this place, staff very friendly and seem happy at there job.    Love the vibes and Pizza is fantastic. Beautiful classic pizza dough done in wood fired oven. Highly recommend the brisket loaded fries!! Neat how you can order online from your table. Food is always served quickly. The beer selection is awesome! They have a great covers band playing on the first Sunday of the month, called the Midnight Fizz. Definitely get in there and check them out!

   There are 2 main reasons that the Favourite Husband and I hadn’t previously been to The Island. Firstly we are several lifetimes too old to go there and secondly the playground. I’m slightly allergic to small children and there always seems to be a lot of them there. Imagine my delight then to discover that there was an R18 area. Genius. We were meeting the extended FamBam who are all very familiar with The Island and the menu. The cocktails weren’t bad, but there was no margarita on the list and I don’t like to ask for fear of being labelled the problem child of the group. I loved being able to order using the QR code from the table. This is the type of “modern technology” that appeals to me and I strongly believe more places should offer it. Portions were generous. Flavours were good. The Thai beef salad was really nice, with chargrilled steak and the pickled ginger was a nice touch. There was a lot of dressing which overwhelmed the dish a bit. The burgers were really juicy, the loaded fries and chicken wings were also full of flavour and generous portions. The pizza was a hit. Look, I can’t find fault. I’m not going to try. It was pub food done really well. Good value and a good night. Service was friendly and fast. It’s not “fine dining” but it’s not trying to be. Good work.
