   The Asian lady on Friday duty (possibly the manager) at the hospice shop was extremely rude and unprofessional. I overheard her openly complaining about donated goods, saying they were “too small” or “too big.” When I looked at the items myself, they seemed perfectly reasonable—moderate-sized household goods in good condition. It was upsetting to see someone in a community-based charity shop speak so disrespectfully about donations that people give out of kindness. Her attitude was dismissive and ungrateful, which completely goes against the spirit of what a charity shop should represent. I’m confident that the Salvation Army next door—or any other charity—would appreciate those same donations with genuine respect and gratitude.

   This feedback is for the hospice shop Birkenhead, not hospice retro. While the volunteers are consistently friendly and welcoming, the manager — I believe her name is Amy — comes across as unprofessional and uninviting. A more approachable attitude, like that of the volunteers, would improve the customer experience and likely help boost support for the shop.

   I visit this place weekly and I always find treasures there. Good selection of books, nicely decorated stores, very friendly staff who are volunteer and they're always willing to chat. Please go there and support them. They also have a Facebook page.

   This shop we love and have been going to for the last few years. Today I found a couple of item's, I went to the counter and was met with Stony silence. I asked"sparkles" if the shop would consider making a discount on said item's, the reply snapped out was that "they don't do that sort of thing" They have in the past actually. I'll pay full price then. Sparkles behavior was absolutely horrid, cold and unfriendly. I asked her why she was being so aggressive to which she replied that she was a nurse for 27 year's and had recently received an award for her year's in service. I doubt the award was for her bedside manner. Whilst paying via effpost she clutched our items as if we were going to do a runner. Someone might inform the woman that all item's are donated, if you can't be bothered cracking a smile and saying hello STICK HOME!!

   Great op shop with one half dedicated to Retro and Vintage, with the other half dedicated to books. Mid to high pricing but it is a specialist op shop, and they don't often verge into unfair pricing.

   Love this shop. Not just a gorgeous array of books to look through, there are wonderful other interesting items scattered around the shop, that are fun to look at, add a great atmosphere, plus are sometimes just the hidden treasure I want to take home today. Plus there is always a great collection of games, jigsaws, knitting patterns and needles etc that I enjoy browsing through.
