My experience with Turners (Hamilton) serves as a stark warning to anyone considering a purchase. I bought a 2014 Ford Ranger from Turners in July 2025. Almost immediately, a heater fault appeared. While they covered the first repair, the problem kept coming back intermittently. The real issue began when I followed the direct advice of a Turners salesperson. In a written email, they told me to get a new diagnostic report to find the "root cause of the problem." Trusting their guidance, I paid nearly $300 for an independent inspection. Then, Turners moved the goalposts. After I had already spent the money on their suggestion, they retroactively decided they would only pay if the report found a fault. The inspector noted everything was working at that specific moment, so Turners refused to reimburse me. I was left with no choice but to take one of New Zealand's largest vehicle retailers to the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal. The outcome: The Tribunal ruled decisively in my favour. The adjudicator ordered Turners to pay me the full $287.04, stating that their condition for payment came "too late" and that my cost was entirely foreseeable. The Takeaway: My winning case proves that Turners was in the wrong. However, it should never have gotten to this point. A reputable company would have stood by its employee's advice and covered a minor diagnostic cost. Instead, they forced a customer through a formal tribunal process over a principle they ultimately lost. Let my experience be a lesson: Get every promise from Turners in writing, and be prepared to fight for what's fair, even when their own advice causes you to spend money.

I visited Turners Hamilton recently to view a car listed for auction (Hyundai Ioniq 5). I was very disappointed by the attitude of one of the customer service representatives. When I asked for a test drive, I was told I couldnβt because the carβs WOF had expired nine days ago. However, when I checked the WOF status online β and even confirmed it with another Turners branch β it clearly showed that the WOF was still valid. Instead of politely explaining or checking again, the representative was very rude and dismissive. This is not the level of professionalism or customer care I expected from Turners. I hope the management looks into this, as such experiences really affect customer trust and Turnersβ reputation.

Avoid this dealership! We traveled from Auckland to Hamilton to collect a van, but the sales rep changed the deal at the last minute, adding extra charges. Be cautious and ensure all agreements are in writing. Poor experience.

I purchased a car through your auction, and my driver went to pick it up from Hamilton. After driving just 10 km, the vehicle broke down due to a faulty transmission. Both the driver and I immediately contacted Turners and were told that a tow truck would be sent. He waited for four hours until the evening, only to be informed later that no tow truck was coming. The vehicle condition guide and listing did not mention any transmission issues. I had to arrange an after-hours tow truck myself, which cost me an additional $780βon top of the cost to repair the transmission. This has been a very disappointing experience. The service was extremely poor, and no one has taken responsibility or made any attempt to follow up. I would appreciate a response and some accountability for the inconvenience and unexpected costs Iβve incurred.

DON'T ever go there. I wouldn't even give one star. They are lying about the cars. Already knowing that there is a problem: I took my car home in the evening (drove home over an hour) and checked it a little bit more the next day. Found a few problems and called. Got treated like I'm an idiot. Brought it back to get it fixed. Got told "everything is fine now" when I picked it up but NOTHING was done. Called them and got treated like an idiot again. Brought it back a second time Friday morning. One of the salesperson was very very rude. Got promised from an other salesperson that everything will get fixed (also something new I found). Got told it will get done the same day or latest Monday. I waited. No communication. I called customer service on Thursday. He checked and told me "that they are still waiting for parts". He ignored me when I said that they could have let me know about it. I got a phone call Friday that it's all done now. I drove over. The salesperson who sold me the car gave me the key and told me everything is fixed but didn't look at me and quickly walked away. NO apologies for all the time I wasted, the patrol I used and all the trouble. No discount or petrol voucher AND not everything was fixed and heaps of reusable cable ties I used where gone. I emailed customer service and they wrote back that someone would call me the next day. Nothing happened. I wrote an email again after a few days but I didn't even get an answer this time. What a surprise.

EXTREMELY unhappy with our experience with turners. Too bad I canβt do 0 stars because they donβt even deserve 1. Paid the 10% deposit to hold/secure the car only to have it sold out from under us anyway. Wow. No words. Will not be using or recommending turners to anyone.

DONT NOT TAKE YOUR CAR FOR APPRAISAL. took my car for a appraisal waited ages even though I saw the staff member at the car for 10min max. then came back in and said the offer was $1k. he never started the car/ drove it. never asked me a single question about it which I thought they would considering it has had major work done to it and perfect service history. I was expecting better and felt like I totally wasn't my time.

We have owned the car now for just over 1 year when we first got it home the engine light can on and with some convincing turners fixed it. 1 month later the first cat converter went 2 months after that the transmission went 2 months after that the other cat went then the throttle body went. To make it worse we checked the brake pads when first cat went and there was no way it would of past the a warrant when we bought the car ( they put ne wof on) will not be using them again

AVOID AVOID AVOID - read all, unfortunately it doesn't get better. Paid pretty much 26k for a truck + shipping on top. Was told it would be on transporter Monday. (paid the week before & changed ownership) was then told Tuesday it could take 10 days. Drove a few hours up with a friend at that point and collected it myself. Jumped in and the truck was basically on empty.... Every car Ive brought brand new had a full tank, minus this one, and it was the most expensive brought so far through dealers - 26 thousand and y'all couldn't even put diesel in it?. Also found damage/wear that wasn't stated in the vehicle condition guide. Steering wheel upholstery literally falling off the wheel. Not stated anywhere in the guide nor when asked. Customer service is garbage. I'd avoid this place at all costs. Go elsewhere. 1st UPDATE - Rims have lock nuts can't remove them and no key in the truck at all - SECOND UPDATE - after being advised to take truck in to a mechanic by consumer guarantee's - have found the following and replaced/repaired with OUR money as turners denies all- - REAR LOWER SHOCK BUSHES WORN/had play. - (had to be replaced) -REAR TYRES DUE REPLACEMENT SOON - - REAR BRAKE NOISE NEEDING A SERVICE- - WHEELS NEEDED BALANCING- great work turners on being a complete and utter let down. Avoid at all costs. Not even joking.
