My kid was sick yesterday and went to Rotorua hospital emergency around 4:00 PM. The old lady enter information into PC was very rude and her first question was if I have visa??? I felt she has mental health problem because was asking me questions and did not let me to answer to her questions. We waited for 3 hours and then I asked her we are waiting for 3 hours and my kid is sick, she told me doctor is busy. We waited for another hour, around 8:30 PM I asked her my kid can not wait more than this and she said doctor is busy but nurse might see my kid after another hour. They were not busy just did not want to see patients. We could not wait more and left hospital. A very bad experience. My son is still sick.

Now obviously wait times are never the easiest thing, but I was happy overall with how they triaged my issue and treated me when I really needed it. They looked after me well in ED and I was able to speak up if something wasn't right, which it actually was! Thank you lovely receptionists, HCA's, volunteers, nurses and doctors. Love to see you guys work as a team professionally, really putting the patients as the #1 priority and main focus. Because of my positive experience I'm able to be at home feeling much better, not terrible like I was before staying the night.

Happy to provide a 5-star rating for the team in the Emergency Department covering a Sunday afternoon in July 2025. All were friendly and welcoming and sorted out registering and treating me as a UK citizen. The nurse practitioner who treated me/my broken 'foot' was amazing and I left very happy with all they did - not so happy to have broken my foot halfway through my holiday in beautiful Aotearoa though, whoops!

Hi my name's Jackson Te Pairi, I've been a patient in Medical ward since Saturday Night the 5th of July through to when left These two ward nurses who looked after me on those nights were fantastic, they were so professional, knowledgeable, very efficient and did everything with love and grace. So to Nisha and Leya, thank you so much for your patience, friendliness and the very high level of care you both give is, in my view you went above and beyond. I wanted to take this personal time to say thank you very very much, you are very much appreciated by me and my family. Thank you.

Thank you very much to all the staff, my son was very well looked after and cared for. Yes we had to stay in for 2 days before surgery but, it is what it is and we all know the situation. Again thanks heaps to everyone. You are doing great.

My partner Noel Pearson has been in surgical ward for the last 3 days. He would like to thank Dr Christopher Hamilton for his caring attitude and the wonderful nurses. They copped alot of abuse while I was there, and they certainly dont deserve to be treated like that. Thank you

My mum is currently in Rotorua Hospital. Brought in via ambulance and in A&E for a couple of days then moved to medical ward. We are not near the end of her hospital journey yet, but just wanted to thank everyone who has been involved so far. The care she has received has been wonderful. She is enjoying the food, which I thought no one liked hospital food (it does look delicious). Thank you all so much ❀️

Never get seen sooner than 4 hours. Doctors and nurses run off their feet. Today an old man with a head injury, a baby with an allergic reaction, a lady vomiting on the floor for hours, a boy with a broken arm, a lady crying and doubling over in pain, a young man who is 8 hours and counting in the waiting room because there just isn't enough staff. Something needs to change. Not good enough.

Being far away in the UK getting the news when my sister collapsed during her solo tour of NZ was terrifying. We have received the utmost professional and supportive help from the staff here. In patiently explaining what had happened, how they managed to resuscitate and get her airlifted. Thank you so much, words just cannot express it.
