   This experience was so much fun (you have to try it)! This is my 2nd time land-sailing (my 1st was in Bonaire) and I enjoyed it again. Ian and his team were great in assisting us and my mom enjoyed this experience as it was her 1st time. It's definitely an activity we would do again and in multiple places.

   Found this by chance on Viator and so glad we did! Ian and the rest of the staff were so friendly and fun. Highly recommend doing this when you’re in the Christchurch area. It is a unique experience that you can’t really do anywhere else. We tried the blow karts and the drift karts and both were a lot of fun and much easier to do than we originally thought.

   Velocity carts is a great little New Zealand company offering land sailing, in their custom designed and made “blocarts”. These carts are fast and extremely manoeuvrable. You can learn to drive a blocart well within one session, although if you have experience in other forms of sailing that is a definite advantage. The controls are simple, a steering wheel and a main sheet (rope) which controls the sail. At the beginning of your first session, the instructors will show a video detailing how to use a blocart and then explain how best to steer through the course. The staff will then be on the course to give advice on how to improve and to ensure your safety. In windy conditions sail sizes can easily be reduced or heavier wheels added to ensure greater stability. The cost of the experience in 2024 was $75NZ per hour per person.    Had the best time. The weather on the day and time I originally booked was not good enough to do this activity and Ian kindly offered another activity or to reschedule for a different day with better wind. We decided to reschedule and it was really worth it. Velocity team was so helpful and kind at all times, they made sure we had the best time and they took great pictures too that we could find in their Facebook page (they asked us if we agreed before taking any pictures and posting them) Strongly recommend this activity with them!!

   Amazing experience. Fun for all ages and I mean all. The littles to the adults had a blast. They gave helmets and gloves as well as a video explaining how to work a blow cart. After they showed us the track we would take and when to slow down and when to gain speed. They were also on the track giving signals and helping out if you stopped and needed assistance. Super simple to handle and learn. Once you got a hang of it then it’s just exhilarating! The staff were amazing and my brother and I had an awesome time! 10/10 would definitely recommend.

   So much fun! I was really nervous but after watching a safety video and being given instructions I felt very safe. Especially with all the staff on the track to help. Great customer service and a wonderful experience. Will be coming back!

   Great fun, but the wind was a little light the day we were there. The people running the place are very helpful and friendly. Don't worry, they give you some training before get on the track. There is something about wind power that is quite calming. Give it a go!

   We attended Velocity Karts as our away day for Camp Purple Live 2023. The team were very accommodating, setting up extra activities to keep our large group entertained. We had to postpone for 1 year but Ian allowed us to shift the date to suit us. Amazing venue and the kids all had a ball!
