Been here several times now and is one of my go-to cafes in Christchurch when I’m in town. Salmon eggs bene and flat white are always excellent, great service and has a lovely relaxed, vibe and sunny outlook. Can’t ask for more
Came back for the first time in two years, it was just as amazing as I remember. We had the eggs on toast and the lemon waffles with added bacon. The food was delicious and looked amazing. The staff were also very lovely.
Just had the best Salmon Benedict in Christchurch! Coffee was amazingly perfect. Service is top notch!!! Will come often from now. a great local spot that will make you keep coming back
The Ottoman Egg is so spicy… and I can’t taste the Tahini… quite disappointed. In my mouth, it tastes quite a mess. The pasta is good. The Sesame drink is great! Not worth the price.
Delightful atmosphere, lovely customer, service, and creative food options make this quite a find of a coffee shop. We really enjoyed the coffee and food options found here and we’re happy to be in an Airbnb right next-door so we could come back again and again.
Table at Monks Cafe is an excellent choice for breakfast and lunch. The food is flavorful, and the daytime atmosphere is warm and inviting. A wonderful place for a satisfying start or mid-day break. Highly recommended!
Cozy place, kind and cheerful service, and the most expected: delicious food! One of my favorite places in Christchurch
Nice atmosphere for this cosy cafe close to the playground. The outdoor sitting area is nice if you have dogs (they do provide free doggy treats). But when we were there, there was a bit of a stench outside and the hedge trimmer started working so we had to move inside. Food was great and staff were so nice and friendly. Inside was a little stuffy, so would prefer a bit of air flow. Overall very nice place!
Customer service was excellent. Staff were authentically friendly and polite. The food was great, the waffles were an adventure of flavour with each element being carefully planned. They were more complex than simply throwing toppings over a waffle. The classic breakfast was just that. The eggs were perfectly poached. Classic breakfast was well seasoned and generous in portion. Would absolutely come back.
