Located at Christchurch, the Riccarton market is a nice all round market like a flee market where everyone comes. I would say the price of stuff here are more affordable and close to everyone. You can find things from daily use and market supplies and of course food. Got to mention the DOUGNUTS there the mini ones are highly addictive. From only buying 10, eventually became buying 60 of them. That addictive i would say! Super nice fluffy and crispy on the outside. During the period there is Xmas busking on stage as well.. very nice and cosy place for family's to come (; Love from singapore family!

great place to spend a Sunday afternoon β€” family-friendly with plenty of secondhand goods to browse. There’s also live music and tasty Asian food to enjoy.

Riccarton Sunday Market is New Zealand’s largest outdoor market and a must-visit attraction in Christchurch. Held every Sunday, rain or shine, from 9am to 2pm at Riccarton Racecourse. By the time we arrived at about 10 am, some locals have already completed their shopping ready to leave. There we also quite a few stall not opened. There were fresh fruits and vegetables, pre-loved goods, clothing, and art, to food stalls serving up a variety of local and international cuisines. The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, with free entertainment and music from local artists adding to the buzz. Entry, parking, and entertainment are all free, making it an accessible and affordable outing for everyone. The market is a treasure trove for bargain hunters, collectors, and foodies alike, and there’s plenty of space to relax with family and friends while enjoying delicious food from the food court. With its wide variety of goods, welcoming vibe, and community spirit, Riccarton Sunday Market is the ideal way to spend a Sunday morning in Christchurch.

Not worth the drive out of your way to go to this. Not sure why it was so busy. The sound of second hand stalls really appealed to me but unfortunately it seemed more like people trying to sell their unwanted goods that weren’t in a saleable condition. Might be a good activity if you’re hungry as there were quite a few food stalls but the service was sub-par and prices were high for what you were getting. We won’t be coming back but it was definitely an experience that will give you a giggle with how weird the stalls are.

Possibly the biggest market in the South Island, it has everything from second hand stalls, to art and craft. A lot of food stall too, at least 20 of them. The market is organised by Rotary club and their profit goes to community projects. Plenty of parking but it can get very very busy. It's best to come early for better selection.

Fun filled place where local gather, there is bit of everything for everyone. From food, music, veg, fruits, ice cream, accessories, second hand goods and local produce. Definitely have things for everyone to discover.

Interesting to visit. The number of sellers lots has shrunk a lot and there's a lot of double ups on what people are selling. Not any good for shopping for bargins in a 'car boot style' so you aren't likely to find some random item from your past anymore. I can't help but feel like the market used to be a bigger and better experience.. Good food and entertainment, parking also good.
