We had coffee/tea and cake in the lounge, and it was superb. A very nice place to sit in the sun and enjoy life and some history. The staff were fantastic and passionate. Thanks!
A place of great historical significance because of the person who lived there and her contribution to women empowerment. Beautiful and well kept property. I was not able to see the interiors but will make it next time.
Beautiful home and gardens at 83 Clyde Rd. This home has incredible history as Kate Sheppard lived here at the time great change and activism leading the women's suffrage movement. We were greeted at the door by Lily who took the time to give us some key history bites. Great gift shop and options of tea etc. Giselle and Lily were fantastic and gave us lots of extra info. A peaceful and interesting slice of local history. $15 or$7.50 conc.
I had the pleasure of visiting this history filled environment on the life of Kate Sheppard as a parent volunteer for a school outing. I do enjoy a bit of history and a nice way to get the children involved with history in our country.
A treasure that should not be missed. A great glimpse of Kate's life.
Lovely house museum! Nice interpretation and visitor host Nicky was very well informed and helpful. Little shop has lots of interesting goodies. We attended a talk about women's portraiture and viewed the associated exhibition.
Women's international day/month how fitting to take my teenaged daughter to view such a prominent place..beautiful and inspiring
Wonderful tour of exceptional historic house and gardens on Waitangi Day. Design and detail of exhibits and artifacts superbly done. Proud to be a New Zealand woman today. Thanks to all for a memorable experience.
The home has been beautifully restored and the staff are very knowledgeable on all facets of Kate Sheppards life. It was a treat to open drawers and cupboards and see the articles and information so well set out. The shop had some lovely items for sale. This heritage home is well worth a visit.
