Hey what's with this Lido movie special card!? I paid $13 for it, got 1 free pass then despite having a gold card too still paid $12.50 for the next ticket? Not so special... however I love the Lido venue for it's locality, parking and calm semi-luxurious decor, movie choices and helpful chatty staff.
Great place! Classy, set apart from other theaters and the ice cream is awesome! Offering different movies to watch including filmed plays.
I’ve always enjoyed the lido . Free parking . A lovely theatre to walk into . Always room for improvement. As it’s an adult venue which I feel gives its value . Reminds of the one in Melbourne packed with age above 40 . Something special that is .
The staff were helpful and lovely to deal with after we'd ordered food then needed to take the small one to the bathroom and held our goodies at the counter for us. Venue is always clean, tidy and cozy to be in. Even when its busy its still a pleasure.
Stylish theatre more just watching movie love the atmosphere and feels very personal and private.
Staff were great and cinema was nice. Has a good feel, however lacking in the snack department. Popcorn you can buy at the supermarket in a plastic bin, small ice cream range..Did love that I could order a hot chocolate and it was in a cup! Sustainability for the win! Would go again.
I recently watched Indiana Jones at Lido Cinema Hamilton. The cinema was hands down one of the best I have been to. (I am quite the movie goer around Aotearoa) The service was amazing. The cinema itself was spotless and had a real ‘classic’ cinema vibe which is hard to come by these days. I was so impressed that when the film finished I asked to speak with the manager. A very polite well educated man from Scotland, I believe Jordan was his name. He was so polite and seemed to run the place well as all staff were very bubbly and personable. Ended up having quite a good chat with him. He said this is his first job managing a cinema which I found hard to believe as everything was simply perfect. I can’t recommend this cinema enough. If you are ever in Hamilton, Lido cinema is a must do.
We watched a mid afternoon movie today. Nice, friendly staff, lovely ice creams. We were delighted the theatre was nice and warm. The theatre was nice and clean. There is a good ticket loyalty program. As a regular theatre goer, with mobility issues, I had problems today walking up to sit at the back of the theatre. We were not late, but the theatre was quite dark. There was no handrail at the top end, on the left hand side.
I never thought I would feel slightly underdressed in a cinema but I did. The place was so divine I felt I had to up my game and come in my best circa 40-50-60’s outfit. Comfortable and classy is not a set of words you would see together often but it definitely captures the essence of this place. So the next time you drop in, make it special and wear something special.
