We had a bedroom with an en suite and had dinner at the hotel...seafood chowder which was delicious. Next time i would bring earplugs to cut motorway noise but my husband slept through it fine xx
We were a group of 14 over 60yr Olds visiting and one of our residents had a fall down the steps inside by the fire place. The steps are black and the floor is black. Not one staff member came to check on him and when we said one of our other residents fell 6mths ago and that you would fix it. Nothing has been done. No hand rails out side either. On a better note though the food was lovely and the entertainment was amazing. We had a beautiful clear blue sky day.
Food is good, chef and older staff are lovely but the young staff a blonde and brunette are rude and makes it feel like you’re a bother by simply placing your order don’t think I’ve ever seen either of them smile very snotty and puts a downer on a nice local pub.
Had an awesome night. The quality of the food was fantastic- I had the ribs and they just fell off the bones!! The meals were huge - but be warned that the kids meals are really big too - certainly plenty for a doggy bag !!
I have just found THE best seafood chowder I have ever tasted! Crammed with seafood and packing a taste that trumps every seafood chowder I have ever tasted, the Rangiriri Hotel serves food that is absolutely fantastic! The bar and kitchen staff are friendly, courteous and the chef's were happy to hear the positive feedback firsthand. What a great service staff!
Quick service, big meals, good atmosphere, pleasant friendly staff. Only had lunch there, didn't stay overnight. It's worth the drive for a meal and drink.
We popped in on our way home from Hamilton, on a recommendation from a friend,and we weren't disappointed. (I personally loved not having to book)the decor was warm and inviting with a lovely two sided fire and it was what you'd expect from a lovely old country pub...we had a deep fried camenbert starter, which we shared, and a pork belly and a steak main both were well cooked and generous, and delicious!! I'm looking forward to sitting outside under the veranda come summer...
If you want an old fashioned shrimp cocktail...it was the best!! The lettuce was fresh and overflowing with shrimps. My husband had the lamb shank and said it was outstanding
Stopped off here for dinner on our way to Auckland. Busy for a Tuesday night and could see why. The meals were delicious and big! Pork ribs were so good as was the seafood basket. No wait for our food which was even better.
