   This is a review of their food truck on Northcroft Reserve at Taupō. I asked for the Thai curry as pictured on their board with chicken and prawn for $25. They said it would cost $30! Apparently the chicken only curry is $25, which I finally got. They then asked for the receipt back when I took a picture of the board! I dislike scammers more than anything, hence the 1 star review. The food was terrible too: the vegetables were clearly from a frozen pack and the rice was a few days old. I’ve put up pictures for a comparison.

   We visited this Thai restaurant for my husband’s birthday and were very disappointed. The service was very poor and slow—upon arrival, no one attended us for several minutes We ordered a $33 roast duck, expecting more duck, but it was mostly vegetables with just two small pieces of duck. The chicken soup, which was $18, had more mushrooms than chicken. The Tom Yum soup was fine but didn’t justify the $18 price tag. The waitress didn’t check on us at all, and we felt completely ignored. After spending $56, we were still hungry. Definitely not worth the money, and we would not recommend this restaurant.

   On a cold winter day with a rain and snow torm, having a warm soup for lunch was what we needed. And we got it here. A nice Tom Yum Gai and some house made spring roles. It was delicious.

   After checking the reviews we realised the place can be hit and miss. Portion sizes were good compared to other Thai restaurants. The chicken was dry and not marinated. The fried rice was tasty but not outstanding. The spring rolls water tiny but there were a fair amount in a portion. In general a satisfying meal but we wouldn't make an effort to come back for it when there are quite a few other places to try out around here.

   We attended NZMCA show this weekend. We ordered BBQ Pork and Rice. The pork was tough and tasteless. The rice was a solid sticky tasteless lump. A small amount of BBQ sauce sprinkled over and a few strands of carrot. All for a massive $20 each. Very very disappointing, for a meal to finish off a great day at the show. Carolyn.

   My wife and I decided to have a small dinning out night with our sister and brother inlaw . A great choice as it turned out as both the service and meal were excellent. We all had a great social family evening out. A nice comfortable licensed venue I have to say.
