Ruk Thai runs with a simple, bistroβstyle menu and an easy pace. Meatβfree options are woven into the menu. The team keeps things friendly and organised. Pricing lines up with the offer. Portions are generous yet well judged.
Ordered through uber eats, $75 in total for two red curryβs and two roti breads. The curry itself had a thick layer of oil on top and flavourless, the roti bread was also extremely oily. I donβt usually write reviews but me and my partner both found it uneatable and are really disappointed.
Disappointed about take away, ordered green curry and rice which I have tried multiple time but it comes out yellow and oily. Regular Thai food eater but never saw green curry Yellow and really oily.
Four of us went for dinner and shared some dished. Food very tasty and staff were friendly and attentive. Very reasonable drink prices too.
Absolutely loved this place. The service was impeccable, the restaurant is nice and the food delicious. They were honest and upfront when I asked about vegan options and knew exactly what I was talking about. I asked for Thai hot and it was perfectly spiced. Would recommend 100%, best Thai in town :D

We have had food eating here and takeaway. Generally of a decent standard. Most recently we had takeaways on Sunday. The food was the tastiest thai we have had in Tauranga, it was great. Massaman beef, pad prik pork and prawn pad Thai. The one issue we had was the servings of rice. They were pitiful. I went back into the shop after showing the whΔnau in the car and got told that is a standard serve. We have photos below to show how small the serves were, so much so we were able to move the two serves into one container. If they are going to skimp on rice, at least reduce the amount of packaging they are using. In having said this, the actual mains were of a decent size so I guess the moral of the story is cook your own rice or order twice or three times as much as you would normally expect.
