The Oak Tree Restaurant operates as a modern buffet with liveβcooking elements. Guests can move between roasts, soups, a deli and salad bar, hot selections and desserts, with beverages available. Bookings are recommended for peak times.
Food was good. $44 per adult for buffet. Our favourites were pork belly with crackling, vegetarian noodles, and the perfectly crispy donuts. Several gluten free options including dumplings. Staff service was very good, going out of their way to serve us, including turning restaurant music down when a member of our group did a speech/song.
Had our Christmas lunch there. Awesome food.
Yooo! This place slaps! Some times you just want to gorge yourself on a fat spread- Oaktree got you covered! I hadnβt seen a buffet in NZ since moving from the US, so let me tell you we were pleasantly surprised to find this joint. Clean, well presented, tasty and attentive staff. Lots of fare to choose from and beers available for order! We waltzed right in after peak hours and closed the place down! I WILL BE BACK!
I saw many reviews on the internet, but I am disappointed that most of the food is bothered already done. You can buy it in the supermarket, like Gilmors.
The buffet lunch had an awesome range of delicious food and desserts. Great service, helpful and friendly staff members. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Thanks Oaktree Restaurant keep up the excellent work.
Great service. Good variety of food. Busy and noisy but staff were very accommodating in moving us to a quieter spot when it became available
Booked a table here for dinner last week got there 15min before the booked time only to find out there was a function on at the same time so we waited in line for nearly 45min, it was freezing the line was outside and there were old people waiting to some we told to go ahead of us because it was a ridiculous wait, finally made it to the desk advise the owner that the organisation of the bookings wasnβt good enough got no apology or discount for that matter so thank fully the food made up for it!!! Next time do your bookings better no old people should have to wait in the cold or kids for that matter.
This place has been a family favorite for the past 5-6 years. Having many family celebrations here and many Christmas eve events here. We have always been welcomed in the most lovely way by staff but this time was different. We had a really nasty staff member last Saturday (I realized they were busy but accusing us of trying to rip them off was just so disgusting) we had a lady come to our table accusing us multiple times that we had only paid for 14 people but we had way more people then that, when we asked her to count because there was clearly 14 people she started raising her voice and accusing us that there were too many people... finally after 5 minutes she tried to prove us wrong and counted all the people and hallelujah there were 14... instead of apologizing she walked off in a huff. We have only ever had positive interactions with this place but she continued to serve our table with drinks the rest of the night and was so rude and snappy. I hate writing bad reviews and I have always had nothing but good things to say about oak tree but this time I felt let down.
This Restaurant has quickly become a family favourite .Great food,service and Atmosphere. Carpark needs more lighting. Last time at the restaurant I returned to a nasty ding in my driver's door that definitely wasn't there on arrival.
We had our wedding reception lunch in the function room. Great space as it also had the little courtyard which was handy for the kids to run around in after they finished their Kai. Seated 70 people comfortably. Food was delicious, and our guests agreed. Big selection of hot food, salads and deserts. Tina was lovely to deal with in the booking process. Only let down was having to line up to purchase drinks as there was another large family gathering in the main restaurant. They only eftpos available was where people were paying when they entered. Would highly recommend and would definitely dine in again.
