On the plate at Skippers Restaurant, the idea is breakfast‑and‑brunch and well judged. A riverside backdrop rounds out the stop. Eggs land on point and toast keeps its crunch. Music and pace keep a casual tone. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy.
Nice spot, especially if you can sit outside. Service was friendly and efficient. Shame about the food! I have no idea what sort of “beef” was in my burger but it did not taste beefy. Chips were fine and the aioli was tasty.
We visited for brunch while in the area. The service was good, and both meals and coffees came out promptly. Hubbys mince was apparently nice, with a heavy “tomatoe” base. My big breakfast was great, everything was cooked really well,the muchrooms were really tasty and even the bread was delicious. The only disappointing thing was the menu specifically said Kransky Sausage. Instead there was a large plain run of the mill precooked sausage. It was the Kransky that I specifically wanted, and the reason I chose this dish. While i I understand sometimes a kitchen will run out of an ingredient, they should have made me aware when ordering, or better still, amend the menu. It was just printed paper sheet, so wouldn’t have thought it was too hard to do. Sorry, but if it is on the menu, it should be on the plate.
We found an insect in our food, pointed it out to the owner (Victor). He was extremely rude and condescending. Did not feel welcome there at all. Would never come here again.
Lovely lunch wirh a view over the water. Day was overcast but the food was excellent. We'll be back!

Great food in a great location to chill out with family and good mates. One of the few restaurants over the Tauranga Harbour. Awesome views and easy parking
The food was lovely but quite pricey. Unfortunately we waited over an hour for our lunch but the waitress was very apologetic. It's a lovely place to eat with marina views and the food really was very nice. I would still go again
I ordered the mince on toast. The mince was nice and flavourful, just the right amount of savoury. The best part for me was that it wasn't drowned in tomato base and it wasn't too rich or greasy. The poached eggs on top were cooked to perfection. The toast was dripping with melted butter and super yummy. I rate the dish 4.5/5 - half a point off for using tomato base, as I prefer my savoury mince simple without it, but that's just my personal preference.
