Been here a few times now for the yum cha / dim sum. Summary is that food is decent but lacking service. Slightly more expensive (about $2 per portion more) than others in the region. Big restaurant and can be at full capacity during peak. Normally no issues to get a seat but it can be hard to flag someone down after. Dishes do not really come out at the same time either which can affect the dining experience. Adding dishes after the initial order not recommended unless you are prepared to wait.

Authentic dimsum and lovely ambience. Lots of things are self-service, which is great so you don't have to wait too long. The wait for the food was also not too bad. Overall 10/10, would visit again when i'm craving dimsum!

The best yum cha in Christchurch. We ordered so many dishes and it was all good. Definitely have the charcoal buns and red cheong fun wrapped around fried fritters with prawn in the middle. Absolutely divine. Service is great too.

The food was okay in terms of taste, but I wish the service could have been more clear. When we first entered, we were asked if we wanted water or tea. Since no information about the cost was mentioned and it wasn't on the menu, we assumed that tea, like water, was free, so we chose tea. Later, when we were ordering, the server said that if we couldn’t finish our food, they could provide us with two takeaway boxes. Again, nothing else was mentioned. However, since most restaurants charge extra for takeaway boxes, we specifically asked and found out that they actually cost extra. Then, when we got the bill, we discovered that the tea was also charged as an extra. None of this was explained when we ordered, and we had to double-check ourselves to find out about the charges. This gave us a very unpleasant impression.

Lots of parking, food cantonese style, tasty and good value. They have roast pork , crispy pork and roast duck. During the day they do yum cha. They also have a second restaurant in upper riccarton too.

First time to visit Jolly restaurant. Great food, service bit slow. Popular spot for yum-cha. I heard they open second shop in Church Corner recently?

We went for a dimsum lunch today. The shrimp dumpling and the pork congee are delicious. We also ordered seafood crispy noodles, braised beef and many more. The service is a bit slow due to too many customers.

It was a normal Cantonese restaurant when I came here for Dim Sum last year. It's been almost a year since last time we dined in. This time the food is much better. We really like it. The food is more authentic than most of the Cantonese restaurants in Christchurch. Will definitely come back again soon.

One of the best yum cha places in town, but too bad they don’t seem to be doing the carts anymore. Not thing we had was bad, but other than the almond shrimp ball, everything is just average. Also, they need a better drink menu.
