   Probably the most authentic Indian experience you could have in Waikato. Haven’t had better and doubt I will find many that can match the taste and authenticity. I have loved this place for years, visits are always a pleasant time. Great portion, great price and great staff. Now that I have moved away I misses this place and will revisit given the chance

Outstanding customer service... staff are incredibly friendly and attentive.. must try chettinad dosa, chicken biriyani, barota etc. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for authentic south Indian food.. thank you Peter, Naveen and Bala

   I’m glad my first experience of South Indian cuisine was at Bala’s. I can’t prove if it’s authentic, but for the first time, I was moved by food to visit the country of its origin. Chicken biryani and mango lassi went so well together. Impossible to forget the flavours.. loved the atmosphere for being so seemingly…untouched? And the guy taking order was mindful of those coming into the shop and quickly taking accurate orders. Please keep it that way!

   Yummy Dosa...we are hard to please fussy customers. We had the Marsala Dosa. The dosa was delicious, daal and sides flavors were amazing. First time to Balas and we will definitely be back. Atmosphere is very authentic.. feel like I'm in a little back street eat out in south India.

   Amazing amazing food, really good quantity and quality. Authentic south-indian taste, would go back again and again. Tried a couple of dishes, mutton biryani, biryani combo and curry dosa is a MUST try. Staff is very friendly, always talks with a smile on the face.
