Went to the Cust Country Pub for dinner last night with some friends. Had a lovely time. The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Nothing was a bother for them. The food was great, from the entrees to the desserts. I had the fish and chips which was served with yummy chips and a lovely green salad and was unfortunately more than I could eat ( and believe me I tried). I would recommend this pub to anyone who wants a reasonably priced good meal in a comfortable friendly atmosphere. Well done to the staff and management.

Visited 27th Dec 2025 with the intention of dining and a drink. The wine was around 2 tablespoons in a very large glass and @ $10, was not going to get a second. Prices of food just too tough for a country pub. Quite nicely done up but no atmosphere like you would expect in a place like Cust. Didnβt stay for a meal or a second drink and wonβt be going back ever. Shame!

We were so looking forward to dinner at the newly renovated Cust Pub and it was lovely and inviting. I was in a group of 10. Unfortunately the meals were not up to standard and totally overpriced. I had to send my steak back as it was raw and when I got a new meal the steak was ok but couldn't eat the chips as they were so salty. The salad was basic and no love was put into presentation. Two other meals were undercooked and were sent back twice which meant two people never had a full dinner. The battered fish dish was wet sitting on a plate of really bad mash potatoe and the meat platters were overcooked. When we asked if there was an issue with the chef we were told he went home sick. The wait staff were most apologetic and stated they had no idea what was going on in the kitchen. When it came to paying the owner did not come to the party with reducing the cost of the meals and stated that the burgers were smashed beef and were meant to be that way. In summary sadly I would not recommend this pub and it is certainly not value for money.. They really need to up their game.

Great interior, good atmosphere, friendly staff. The value for money for the food menu felt a little low, especially the size of the chicken schnitzel for the price paid. There were also lots of fruit flies around our table which we didnt enjoy. Would go back for drinks but probably not the food.

We had dinner at the Cust Hotel last night with a group of ten. The new dΓ©cor is pleasant and modern, though itβs missing a bit of the warmth and character youβd usually expect from a country-style pub. I ordered the sirloin steak with fries, seasonal vegetables and mushroom sauce. The steak itself was generous and mostly well-cooked, but the mushroom sauce was more of a gravy. The fries were fine, just a little salty, and the vegetables were clumsily cut and barely blanched β essentially raw. The dinner plates were also too small, which made it difficult to cut the steak without my chips and veg slipping off the edge. For dessert I chose the deep-fried ice cream, which unfortunately missed the mark. There was no crunch to the crumb, it was sitting in a pool of average chocolate sauce that overpowered the dish, and what really tipped it over was a piece of fish batter mixed in with the ice cream β the fish flavour completely ruined it. While the menu itself is appealing and some at our table enjoyed their meals (particularly the pizzas and chicken salad), others were less impressed. Feedback on the fish and chips, chicken burger, cookie dough dessert and sticky date pudding was that they were below average. Overall, a lovely setting with potential, but the kitchen execution was inconsistent across our group. Hoping to see improvements, as it could be a great local spot.

Just moved to the area. Out for a ride on my motorbike and it caught my eye. Popped in for a refreshing cider and was very impressed with the village atmosphere. Will definitely be back and probably regularly.

Loved it and the Guinness. Only wish we'd been there when the kitchen was open. Sat out in the beautiful garden. We only hope the Lily of the Valley bulbs survived. Will be going back for a lunch and Guinness one weekend soon.

We enjoy and look forward to a meal every Friday lunchtime. Great service value for money meals. I am trying out the entire menu by ordering something different every week - have never been disappointed. Staff are friendly and approachable - great spot.
