   Absolutely fantastic experience at Monteith’s! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was genuinely outstanding – friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with great attention to detail and flavour throughout. You can really tell that care and quality go into everything they do here. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommended – a real gem!

   Our server was Lisa, she was really lovely. She needs to back herself as she was a delight and a natural but visibly lacked confidence in herself but that will only grow. Lovely meal. The strawberry cheesecake cocktail was super delish and the nachos were great - perhaps the beef could have been smaller chunks so the nachos didn’t snap when scooping up the mix but that would be the only negative. It was my first time here and I found it wonderful. We were greeted warmly and looked after well. I’m gluten intolerant and they had lots of options available which was a pleasant surprise.

   Really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Very attentive helpful staff. Enjoyed trying a couple of cocktails. Really enjoyed the drama of the stone grills. Great touch with the branded burger buns. Only slight improvement would be for the Jameson jeus as it had no flavour at all, but a super easy fix

   We had an excellent meal there last night. My daughter ordered the scallops , She noted she was allergic to Raw carrots and oranges and happy to skip the salad that came with it, if this made it difficult. The waiter said we will make a new salad from scratch, is no problem. She said it was wonderful some places make a real issue I had the roast venison shanks which was gorgeous , the sauce was fab you. My husband had the Farmers platter, he could not eat it all, beautiful beef and yourshire puddings, pork belly bites were delish and sirloin steak and bacon. Definitely going back

   We've been here for drinks before, but never dinner. Last night was our first experience and, based on that, we will definitely be back! The service was outstanding, the food was amazing (and we were delighted to discover kids eat free on Mondays and Tuesdays too!) and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

   Awesome local pub where the owner knows you by name. The only downside was that the fish was a little oily, but we did visit early on in the day so I'm sure it would have been better once the kitchen was pumping. I'll definitely be back next time I'm back in Rangiora

   Food was very average. The salmon dish is a waste of time as you can see the ragout it is served on pretty much looks like a tin of tomatoes chucked on a plate. I was a bit worried about eating here as I saw most diners still had food on their plates when their table was cleared. The only plus was the service and the chicken nibbles (don't expect wings) but for the price of them, definitely not worth it.
