   This review is not just my personal opinion but reflects the experience of all our friends who visited La Porchetta. I have no intention of undermining your restaurant’s reputation, but I feel it is important to provide honest feedback, which I hope your management will seriously consider for the business’s continued success and growth. First, your food is absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes are generous there’s no doubt about that. However, the area that needs immediate attention is the service provided by your staff. Unfortunately, our experience with the serving team was disappointing and, judging by other online reviews, this seems to be a recurring issue. During our visit, we were seated at a long table, and the waitress did not bring food to the correct guests. Instead, the person who ordered had to engage the entire table to pass the dishes along, despite there being plenty of space for the staff to walk around and serve correctly. When I asked her to bring the dish to the correct person, she ignored the request and walked away. The person who took our order did not smile or engage with us at all while this may seem minor, it contributed to an overall service rating of 2/10 for us. Additionally, we were charged twice for drinks because the order was taken incorrectly. When we pointed this out on the receipt after paying, the staff refunded the money but casually mentioned they “forgot to remove it from the order,” which felt dismissive. I understand that hospitality can be stressful and some days are tougher than others, but consistent poor service is damaging your business. Many of the one-star reviews online seem to reflect similar experiences with your staff. Your front-of-house team is the first impression customers have of your restaurant, and right now, it is clearly harming your reputation. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to a review of your staff training and customer service practices. With your excellent food already in place, improving your service would make La Porchetta a truly outstanding experience.

   It’s not often I have to write reviews such as this, but overall, this was a very disappointing experience and believe me when I say we have tried to give this place a fair chance on multiple occasions to redeem itself. La Porchetta used to be a favourite pastime for our family dinners and social events when catching up with friends. However, in more recent times, this venue seems to have let itself go, and it shows in the lack of diners. We visited on a Thursday late night without a booking and were seated in a booth. We ordered drinks, which were about the only good thing I can say about the visit. Unfortunately, both the service and the quality of the food fell well short. I ordered the pesto gnocchi, and my partner ordered the pollo e funghi risotto along with garlic bread. We waited over 45 minutes for our two pasta dishes. When the waiter finally brought them out, he commented, “Sorry, it’s still a bit runny would you like me to take it back.” After the long wait I dreaded to think how much longer it would take and given it wasn’t busy, I couldn’t understand the long wait time. The dishes were watery and more like soup than pasta or risotto. Between the two of us, we ate what we could, using the garlic bread to soak up the excess liquid from meals we certainly hadn’t ordered as soups. To add to the disappointment, the bathrooms have also seen better days, with damaged fixtures in the female toilets and an overall unclean feeling, even after washing hands. If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Riccarton, I would sadly recommend looking elsewhere.

   We were excited to go to this place for pasta dish since we've tried it at the other branch few years ago and come home satisfied. This time we ordered Carbonara and Pesto Gnocchi but was very disappointed, not the best pasta dish.

   I spent almost $32 on this. Very small, dough was gummy and sauce so salty, it annoyed me to bits. Sucks to have nothing close to a decent Italian restaurant in Christchurch, almost offensive to our culture.

   I was extremely disappointed with my recent dining experience. Despite having made a reservation, my party and I had to wait a whole hour for our food to arrive. And to add insult to injury, when our order finally came, it was the wrong pizza. To top it off, I had specifically requested a jar of lemon-lime bitters with no ice, but it arrived with ice in it. It's disheartening to see such a lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer preferences. Overall, the long wait, incorrect order, and the failure to fulfill a simple request left me thoroughly unsatisfied with my visit.

   Nice and tidy place for having dinner. Excellent service, very friendly staff. Pizza was cooked to perfection and arrived in less than 10 minutes after ordering. Keep up the good work!

   Was craving for good pasta from a long time. Went to La Porchetta last week and it was awesome. The chicken pasta was great value for money and tasted purely authentic and delicious . Also tried the peri peri chicken pizza. It was also good. The staff was friendly and as it was my first time trying food from their, the manager helped me to pick the right food according to my preferences.

   The food here good, we had the mushroom pizza. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, however the customer service is quite poor. Some staff were friendly however we did have one waitress who seemed as though she just really hates customer service. Maybe it’s a lack of training, but regardless it did make our experience less enjoyable. We were very polite and made no annoying or difficult requests, but every interaction we had she lacked the basic customer service skills.

   This is a really hard review to write because there were some really great things about this place & some not so great… If you are looking for decent portion sizes & good food you’ve come to the right place, but for service and well presented meals perhaps not so. The restaurant has capacity for a large number of diners & catered well for our group of 7 but attention to detail was not there. We booked in advance and yet our table wasn’t ready we had to wait and ask for forks and water. 2 out of the 3 ladies bathrooms were out of order. The server was not forth coming about offering a kids menu so there was a drink mixup & could have advised our group on the size of meals & suggested more appropriate sides for meals as we ended up ordering far too much. Entrees are not necessary as there’s so much food, so to avoid waste order entree size. Medium pizza was great & the pasta & we’d recommend the seafood dishes also. As mentioned earlier presentation is not a priority so if you like a gif looking meal it might not be for you! East place to spend far too much moment but ya won’t go home hungry!
