   Sal's used to be a reliably delicious pizza. I came on here and it confirms others are now getting poor quality. Our pizza had bare base bubbles where there should've been cheese. This has happened a few times now. No more chances...you've lost our business.

   No surprise that all recent reviews are terrible. To say standards have slipped under the current management is an understatement. We usually order the cheese pizza but after the last one we ordered had little to no cheese we thought pepperoni would be a safer bet. Unfortunately this was wrong. Frugal on toppings, especially the cheese, large bubbles in the base due to being in overcooked/having no topping on it (first photo was our pizza, second was the same pizza from this restaurant before the current owner took charge) A real shame as this was hands down the best Sals location in CHCH.

   I got the chicken and tomato pizza today or pepperoni which is usually pretty good but lately I have noticed this branch is getting quite frugal with the toppings. I mean for $52 you'd expect a bit more chicken. The pizza is only 2 main ingredient's chicken and tomato plus base and cheese. Heres a photo below of a slice with only 3 tiny bits of chicken :(

   We love Sal's... usually. 11 November, I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza for take-away. When I came to collect, the sole empolyee was in the kitchen area clearly on a personal phone call. Apparantly, that was too distracting. I paid and left without checking the pizza. The pizza had no buffalo sauce. It had nothing but breaded chicken bits on it. That's it. It was gross. I asked the employee to rectify and he didn't. Very disappointing experiece

   We did not have good experience at this place at all ! Pizza was very average - both taste and quality. Yes it’s large (HUGE) pizza but if it’s not tasty it doesn’t matter how big it is. I think most basic value 5$ pizza is better at other pizza places. 80$ worth of pizza ( just x2 by the way) - it was not worth it at all ! Service was average too. Bathrooms were dirty and doors that were once white were NOT cleaned in Months. Environment is cold and not welcoming. We would not be coming back here or recommending this place to anyone. Disappointed ☹️

   Sal's has the most faithful rendition of a good New York pizza that my (upstate) New Yorker wife had found in NZ, and therefore our go to establishment pizza. Massive pies with great traditional, and some proprietary toppings as well, all on a super, thin base that you can fold. My favorite are the (spicy, but also available as non-spicy) buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing. There are other great side goodies on offer too, my wife is partial to sneaky pepperoni wheel, and I'm happy to seagull any leftovers. Great clean diner-esk atmosphere with booths and U.S sports on the big screen. They are a little pricey, but usually we'll get a next day lunch for the both of us after we're done for dinner. If you're looking for a great New York style pizza you'll not go wrong at Sal's!

   Surprisingly nice food and service, despite only having one staff by the time we got there. He is friendly, super patient and helpful when taking our orders. The pizza is also great, it’s got crispy crust and not too soggy or oily, we really enjoyed it.

   Friendly staff, great chill atmosphere in the store and their pizza is super tasty. Any time we've had an issue they've been quick to sort it out with great customer service. I used to hate tomatoes and tomato based foods but Sal's legendary sauce was the one that converted me because it's just that good. I'd definitely recommend the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and Garlic Knots.
