My mum, who’s a local, knew that The Terraces was open to the public, so we decided to come here for high tea one Saturday afternoon. I was genuinely taken aback by how classy the restaurant was – a live pianist, attentive staff, and an elegant atmosphere. As a vegan, I was thrilled to be served a beautifully presented two-tiered stand filled with delicate plant-based savoury and sweet treats. Every bite was thoughtfully crafted and absolutely delicious. Hands down, the best high tea I’ve ever had!

The staff here are usually very kind. Unfortunately, during a recent visit I experienced very poor treatment from a staff who told me I was “not welcome”, questioned me about my job and office, and should not use my laptop in the restaurant. There is no written policy about this, and I had already ordered food and drinks while spending time there. I was even told that I could only stay for one hour from now on without laptop. This experience was extremely disappointing and damaging to the otherwise wonderful reputation of St Andrew’s Village. I hope management will take steps to ensure all guests are treated with respect, fairness, and consistency.

From the moment we walked through the door we were met with warmth, elegance and attention to detail. This continued through out our ladies lunch with elevated, attentive service. Our meals were a mix of classic favourites with a creative twist. An extensive range of wines on offer made for a delight experience. We can’t wait to go back again Easily recommend this restaurant.

The Terraces restaurant. Wow.. I have to say is an amazing hidden gem. I had been told that the chef here was bragging they had the best seafood chowder in the world. Bold, and it certainly got me interested to see. I arrived at closing time 3pm not expecting to be able to be served at all. Our waitress was kind and super accommodating, yes we could have pretty much anything on the menu. Of course the chowder and a tiger prawn pizza caught me eye. I have to say both where perfect. Loaded with a bounty of beautiful New Zealand ingredients, perfectly cooked, balanced and presented with a beautiful serve of hot bread and perfectly soft butter topped with a dash of oil. Unfortunately I was so keen to eat I didn't get a photo that was very much deserving. They certainly get my vote for a 10 out of 10. I also enjoyed the tableware it's not oftern I would say this, the attention to detail was noted. There is plenty of parking and the views to the east over theTamaki Estuary, watching the boats and ocean was very relaxing and pleasant. My photo dosen't do it justice. As the restaurant is located in an age care estate it is perfect for special needs wheelchair or mobility equipment where I can assure you will be able to sit back and enjoy an elegant menu with care and detail. I will post a picture of a pizza $20, The world's best chowder was $24 amazing value. The local community are extremely lucky to have such a fine establishment right under there noses. Well done to your team they all nailed it.

May 2023 Terraces Restaurant was our destination within the St Andrews complex. The restaurant is situated in a prime position with nice views across the harbour to Bucklands and Musick Point. The restaurant is very well appointed and the staff compliment that. The menu is very extensive and a matching wine / drinks list.

We had my milestone birthday dinner for 20 friends at the Terraces. From the canapés to the mains, the food couldn't be faulted. Special mention to the seared venison entree! The staff are polite, friendly and efficient. Although there was only a small selection of wines on the set menu, everyone enjoyed their choice. It is also a lovely setting and venue. We shall be back at The Terraces on Wednesday this week.
