Food - Brought 1x creamy mussle pie. 1x creamy paua pie. Neither were good at all. Paua pie tasted like it had sour cream in it. The paua inside was rubbery. Should have tasted like paua with cream only. The mussle pie was very sour, cause it tasted like the mussles were marinated in vinegar and I would only tasted mainly vinegar It didnt taste like a mussle chowder in a pie. I am a maori woman and most maori I know like to taste the pure natural taste from paua's and mussles. When creamed properly it enhances the natural flavour of the " Kai Moana" seafood. You should only use cream not sour cream to cream paua and or creamed mussles or mussle chowder. Tiffanys Bakery" is much much better than this one even though its dearer. But these are the only two bakeries I have been to cause I live in Manurewa. I advise...Dont get these two pies if you expect to taste a creamed mussle pie or a creamed paua pie. Cause they are NOT mean't to taste like this.

My fave place to get an iced chocolate, the workers are lovely too. My daughter likes to order the chicken mayo sandwich and custard pie. Good prices all round and nice hot food.

Had a pork and watercress pie here, might be the worst pie I've ever had, it would be more fair to call it a watercress and gravy pie, because in the whole thing, there was one tiny scrap of pork in the whole thing. Really nice staff, very welcoming, but $6 for a pie with no meat is unacceptable.

Brought my toddler in for something to eat whilst waiting for the bus, staff were friendly. Not many options but prices were reasonable for size of food. We brought a jelly cup for my daughter but wasnt until after we left that I noticed it was past its best by date; may pay to be aware of the prepackaged food and their stock rotation. Over all an ok stop for something to grab quickly.

Not sure why this bakery has such a high rating. When we stopped in this morning the store looked messy and unkept. There was dust/dirt on the cabinets and food was stacked against the windows in display cabinets. When seeing this I didn't have high hopes for the food. Went in to buy a fruit salad and pie but changed my mind after seeing how the food was being stored. There was excess juice in the fruit salad and the pie warmer looked dirty so opted for bread items instead. The bread was hard and stale. When purchasing from a bakery you would expect it to be soft and fresh but this felt and tasted as least 3 days old. The meat on top tasted off as well. I didn't finish eating it took 1 bite and threw the rest away. I can only assume people using the laundromat are the reason this place is still in business. Will be sticking to Alfriston Bakery in future.
