   Bought some takeaway food for my wife and I. 1 piece of fish, 2 x chips and a bacon and egg burger. Chips were OK and so was the fish. The bacon and egg burger consisted of a half piece of bacon that didnt cover the bun, an overdone egg, one slice of tomato and some shredded lettuce on a bun for $8.90. When I got my burger I discovered no meat patty and was told it doesn't come with one. Pretty expensive burger for what you get. I left the burger there. I won't be back.

   Food was ok but overpriced for the small portions. I asked on the phone for a doughnut and a scoop of chips, had to repeat that 3 times to then be told off in the store and told that I ordered 5 doughnuts. Weird experience and the doughnut was gross.

   Since new owners have taken over we’ve noticed a decline in the chip portions. The prices shot up & isn’t the same tasting as our original owners. Ordering food from here will be a last resort, ashame this use to be a really go to for all our meals, even the special A went up in prices. No longer are the lunch specials, miss the old owners.

   The new owners have been there for about a year now and not as generous as Cheryl and Alan (previous owners). Infact the food has gotten worse. The chips were over cooked and the fish is frozen with thick oily batter rather then fresh fish with thin and crispy batter. The older lady is ok but their daughter is a rude brat! Ive been served by both few times now and will not be going ther anytime soon... Kupe Street Takeaway (Golden Swallow) is not the same. It shows A class certified but in my opinion the quality of food is C quality and expect A class prices and give very little in return. Very dissapointing To all our locals if you want fresh fish and lots of chips go to Kohi Fresh Fish Takeaways. The service there is great, prices are less (then Kupe) and food menu is really good #Always busy. You will not be dissappointed
