Honestly it had an aroma not a good one as soon as you entered the store. I thought the battered sausages tasted like sandpaper and my partner got the south city burger which had an odd assortment of meat. Honestly will not be getting fish and chip takeaways from here again
If no starts was an option it would be that. I ordered a snapper and egg burger from here the other day i specifically asked for a runny egg TWICE!! I wasn’t going to eat it till I got home but I could smell something rotten and fishy opened my burger and it was the fish I looked at the egg it was hard as. NEVER AGAIN! Disgusting. Lucky it was high traffic hour and I couldn’t go back cause she would have worn that burger and dry egg!!
This place came highly reccomend, staff were friendly, but I waited ages for my order of fish and chips. Sadly, the quality was not great, fish and chips were overcooked and possibly using old oi, it tasted terrible. Small bits of fish, with lots of batter, it was expensive for what I recieved.
Beautiful owners, son on piano, once upon a time xx We've been visiting for years, mum in Ponsonby, would travel over especially. Best whole battered mussels x10 pk is our draw card. Best fish n chips, raw fish & much more, so worth the trip everytime. Mum is 75 now..We still go xx Thank you very much, for taking care of us with your deliciousness. Food was affordably priced and extremely value-for-money in terms if taste vs price. There is no indoor seating except a couple of chairs to wait as the store caters primarily to takeaways. Chips were great!
Definitely not worth the hype. I only went there because of the reviews and man what a let down. Tiny piddly pieces of fish, just because its the fish of the day doesn't mean give us half the fish we'd get elsewhere. Chips were not seasoned enough and we're pale and undercooked not golden. Batter was very floury. Squid rings ok. Not visiting again, waste of money.
Best fish and chips ever !! Esp the chips thank you for keep changing your oil to serve fresh chips, The only problem is the waiting time.. I understand its only 2 of yous, but still BEST food ever !!

By far the best fish and chips we've had across Auckland. The seafood is prepared when you order so it's always freshly made with a light batter that isn't greasy. Really well priced too with big portions.
Best place to grab fish and chips. Never disappoints. Love their crabsticks and oysters. Note:They will be closed from 01 July 2023 until 16 July 2023 as they will be taking a well deserved vacation overseas due to a birth of a grandchild. And will be back to business on 17 July at 10am. Notices are in their shop and on shop windows and doors
