   Hands down the best barber haircut and eyebrow experience I’ve had in ages. The barber listened to what I wanted and made note of photos I showed and wouldn’t stop buzzing/cutting until he got it perfect. The beautician who did my eyebrows was also so helpful with suggestions and I could tell she was a perfectionist too. Such warm and highly-skilled staff and a lovely, bright, clean salon.    Today I took my kids to this Freedom Saloon and the service was pathetic. Do not know why hair stylist have such a bad attitude. Not friendly staff and an attitude driven hair stylist who offered us such an unpleasant service. The Timmer they use on my child hair was pulling out hair and they were crying. I had to stop the cut at the middle of the service and then taken my kid to – JUST CUTS in Takanini where they were happy to cut and the kids were NOT crying due to the smooth trimmers that they used. The attitude from Just cut staff was so pleasant and that they made the kids comfortable and took them into confidence that it will not pain when using trimmers. I will never ever recommend to use Freedom Saloon service to my friends and family for future.

   I got a full head of highlights for my wedding for $415. The experience was awkward; no music, brisk service and pulled my hair a lot at the basin - when I said it was hurting, she did not adjust her technique. The outcome was pretty terrible - 2cm out from roots at points and a checkerboard at different points. They offered to fix it (I declined), after several back-and-forwards they gave me a partial refund (25%).

   I am a hair dresser myself and I was highly shocked at the service. The stylist seemed miserable. Didn’t have any confirmed prices, freezing cold water on my head, wasn’t washed properly at all. Speaking loudly to other costumers, Slapped conditioner on the top of my head but told me when drying my hair that I had dry ends yet didn’t use any form of product or even comb through. (Only conversation we had) Very rough also. I stopped her mid service and said it was fine I wanted to leave. It’s so sad to see hair dressers like this, why are you in this career if you don’t care. Especially about YOUR work and your clients. The salon is dead and I bet you wonder why! So disappointed I just wanted a nice wash and blow wave. Got charged $30 for a half effort wash and 2 minute dry off. Waste of my time and money. Invest into management skills and development of your salon. Proper communication towards people would be a good start.
