   From a daughter of one of our patients "My mother, Dawn Maria Walsh, has been a patient at Whangaparaoa Medical Centre for over 20 years. She is 86 years old and in excellent physical health, but has recently developed dementia. The staff, and in particular Practice Nurse Justine, have been outstanding in recommending and coordinating the various aspects of her dementia-related care, including support from community services. As a family, we have come to rely heavily on the Kare Project, which has enabled Dawn to continue living happily at home with my husband and me. We are very grateful for the dedication, compassion, and support provided by the team at Whangaparaoa Medical Centre. It would be a great loss to our family and others in similar circumstances if this service were to be discontinued" — Frania Walls

   My elderly father has been going to Whangaparaoa Medical Centre for many years and has always received quality, kind and compassionate care. More recently as he has become more frail and less able to manage his own care, Justine (the wonderful practice nurse) has enrolled him in the excellent Kare Project to regularly assess his needs. This ensures he is safe and well cared for and is therefore able to to stay in his own home, which is what he wants. The Kare Project is a fantastic initiative that gives me reassurance that Dad is getting the care and support he needs. Justine does an amazing job of delivering this and following up to ensure no patient falls through the gaps. Awesome service!

   We'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Cecil Anthony and the team at Whangaparaoa Medical for the wonderful care they provided to our elderly father. Dr. Anthony was always kind, attentive, and patient, and we truly appreciated the time he took to explain things clearly and treat Dad with such dignity and compassion. A very special thank you to Nurse Justine, whose warmth and dedication meant the world to us. She consistently went above and beyond—not just in her clinical care, but in the genuine kindness she showed our family during a very difficult time. Her support was a great comfort and will always be remembered with gratitude. Thank you all for the care and compassion you showed our father—it made a real difference to him, and to us.

   I went back to NZ to visit family and stayed a couple of months. During this time visited the practice and found all the doctors I dealt with very helpful and professional. They were able to help with existing conditions and quickly provide additional treatment. The nurse Katia was caring and very good with both a treatment and injections. Highly recommended

   My mother has been a patient with the WMC for many years and I must say that Justine has been just amazing in helping not only mum but has helped me navigate through some difficult situations for my mum. She goes above and beyond in every sense of the word, I really don’t know what we would have done without her, she is amazing .
