Auckland Central City Library is world-class. They truly understand how libraries are a place of solace and comfort for some of the most vulnerable people in society - including people in homelessness. The library explores the potential of libraries to spread ideas and develop skills. Itβs as if a library employee decided to go rogue and implement all their ideas. They have an area where you can eat non-hot food; A roster of movies playing on a screen, with seating area; A maker space where you can use a 3D printer; An entire wall of zines.
What a wonderful library with a great zine section and makers area with sewing machines. There is also a cafe attached which serves up some good coffee.
Excellent facilities at the center of the City and a very valuable place for Aucklanders, students, kids and the public. Lots of books, reading materials, research areas, kids area , citizens help and many more. This place is core to the community and knowledge in Auckland.

This is the premier site for the best public library system in Australasia. An emblem of Auckland cherished by it's citizens Great collections, catalogue and staff. Used by millions of visitors every year. 55 individual library sites in the system. Without question one of Auckland's best known public treasures. Super education programs. Tremendous outreach. Fantastic digital access.
Nice library in town but the staff was very rude yelling and disturbing everyone within for a 500 meter radius because I had a closed to go coffee (not anywhere near books) The wifi is decent but you only get 2GB so if you have any real work to do you'll probably go over your limit. The bathrooms are cool they have a 3 in 1 sink with soap, wash a and dry.
Great place for readers. Run by Auckland council, the membership is free and you can borrow varieties books. Three story library has reading sections, you can also take online prints (b/w) for just 20 cents. Amazingly helpful staff. Above all, 1 GB free WiFi access. What else one can ask from a library.
One of the best public libraries that I've been to. Free wifi. The place is big but there are not enough seats for everyone. I didn't mind squatting on thier carpeted floors. I just find it strange that food is allowed inside. The 1st floor is quiet noisy and there is a playing area for small children. The upper floors are the ideal place to study coz it's often quite. This is the kind of place I would want to spend my me time in.
